Hey everyone,
I have some exciting news to share with you about twitter!
As some of you are aware, a member of ours, Richard (Rhjelte), created a twitter account (twitter.com/HayleyWestenra) a few months ago to promote Hayley, and in the hope that she would one day take it over.
Well, just over an hour ago, the account was handed over to Hayley’s Management Company (Bedlam) for her to use going forward. That is great news!
I would like to give you all some background on everything leading up to this stage on Behalf of the “Twitter Team” – i.e. the (former) Managers/ Moderators of the account.
Richard stumbled across Hayley on youtube, and was amazed by her talent, as I know we all were at some stage! He was already a frequent user on twitter, and was surprised that Hayley didn’t have her own account. He decided to register the account to keep the name from being abused by anyone else, and also to promote her on twitter until she could take it over.
Members of the Official Forum, including Bob, made contact with Richard through twitter and he eventually joined us on both there and HWI. Problems with “spam accounts” on twitter were becoming time consuming for Richard to deal with alone, so he ended up asking for the help of both Bob and me (this was around the start of the tweeterwall competition, about which we were already in contact).
Since then many MANY emails have been shared by the three of us on how to best manage the account, how to deal with spam accounts, whether to lock the account, what is best to tweet, etc. The tweets and correspondence from the account have been from the three of us (since Bob and I joined).
Bedlam has been aware of the existence of the twitter account for some time now, and a few days ago contacted Richard saying that Hayley would now like to take on the account. Since then we have been preparing the account for changeover – you may have noticed Dean has designed an awesome background, which includes one of Steve’s photos.
We are not entirely sure what’s going to be happening on the account going forward, but you might want to keep watch yourself! We’d love to see Hayley tweeting sometime in the future!
