Well, I'm going to England in August! Not by myself, with a friend from work who has been there before. John and Martin have helped me tremendously with planning, for which I am very grateful. I would definitely like to go to NZ someday, too! Don't know when or how it will happen, but as far as I'm concerned, it will happen.

I went out to put up signs on a fence on a country road this morning, I realised when I got there I was going to need nails, I'm a city boy so I generally use screws and rawlplugs so I can dismantle the work safely when I come back. I had a fair idea I didn't have nails with me, I found two in the toolbox and for some reason the phrase "The Lord will provide" crossed my mind. I walked around the site where new fencing had been fitted and found three horseshoes, I put them in the van, I started doing some of the work with screws and washers and I noticed a couple of nails sticking up out of the dust an gravel at my feet below one of the new fence posts, I flicked the head of the hammer around and sure enough there were at least thirty nails in the dust and dirt. Finished the work, used most of the nails and went home. I was fitting one of the horseshoes over a door when I heard Hayley Westenra singing Pokare kare Ana on RTE Lyric FM played by Lorcan Murray on Lorcan Murray's Classic Drive. Some people say there is no such thing as coincidence.

Ah, but as Arlo Guthrie once sang
"If it happens once, it is chance. If it happens twice it is coincidence. If it happens 3 times it is a conspiracy".
Reminds me of what happened to me on what would have been Sue and my 40th wedding anniversary.
A couple of years ago I bought a small magnolia tree. It was a variety called "Susan" and I planted it in memory of my late wife in the garden she loved. It was quite a small tree, not much more than a twig when I bought it, nor big enough to flower until this year.
I walked down the garden on the mornig of our ruby wedding anniversary to find that the plant had buds on it for the first time ever. They were ruby red in colour.

Some people say there is no such thing as coincidence. Does that mean the Lord (and Hayley) will provide us with a Hayley album? LOL Wishful thinking, we can't even get a peep out of her from anywhere in the universe.

Good news today for music fans, musicians and sportsfans. People power has forced the closure of Tickemaster's Ticket touting companies.
Ticketmaster has announced that it is closing down secondary resale websites Seatwave and Get Me In.
These companies demonstrated pure greed at it's very worst.
I think fans and musicians should still refuse to deal with Ticketmaster, they weren't even happy with the exorbitant fees they were charging on top of the face value of the tickets.
It would be great if fans just contacted their favourite bands and musicians and said " we are refusing to deal with companies like Ticketmaster, find a less greedy way of distributing the tickets.

These fires in LA are just awful, God help those unfortunate people. I am glad Hayley has moved away.

That may be why she left, although I bet she was planning to go home at some point this holiday season, anyway. But I think she'll be back early next year.
