Hi Graham, Paddy and Darren!
Enjoy the concert at Cranwell! With funnyman Jim Bowen as master of ceremonies, I hope he will let Hayley have the microphone!
Safe journey, enjoy!

Hi everyone, just a quick short message for the time being as it's quite late!
Just got back from Cranwell, thought I would leave you all a quick message to say it was a fantastic event, very pleased I was able to go which was very last minute I must add but I was able to get the time off work. I have managed to get some pictures, i'm not a very good photographer and I had to mess about with the settings abit to adjust to the lighting. I shall post these on a site in due course and let you know how to see them.
I will post more about the event tomorrow evening as I shall be out most of tomorrow. P.S - good to see you Graham and Paddy.
Darren

Sunshine and fireworks with the RAF Band at Cranwell.
Hayley in great form and sang six songs:
Pokarekare Ana, Ave Maria, She Moved Through The Fair, Danny Boy Shenandoah, Amazing Grace.
And I didn't realise that Jim Bowen was meant to be funny - until I read Joe's post!!

Hi Paddy and Darren!
Thanks for the report! She Moved Through the Fair is a bit of a change, but the rest of the set sounds pretty standard.
Any other details from the event? What was Hayley wearing? The red poppy dress? The black and gold dress?

Hi Jillian & All. I'd love to hear Hayley peform Bachianas Brasilianas live....as in Live from NZ DVD ....with her voice used as a musical instrument. But I'm sure I won't be doing that. Graeme

The red poppy dress? The black and gold dress? Hi Jillian, Are you sure you weren't there in disguise? Not sure how you do it but you've guessed exactly right!! Indeed it was the red poppy (Valentine) dress and the long black and gold one. Hayley was delighted to hear that she was number 5 in the Tweeter poll - thanks to the efforts of her dedicated fans.

Hi Paddy, Graham, Darren and everyone
Good to hear that last night's concert was a success, although only six songs was a bit disappointing.
You obviously got to speak to Hayley so I'm now looking forward to more detailed reports and pictures!
Best wishes Grant

Hey everyone
As I stated in my previous post, I was very late getting tickets for the event at Cranwell as I didn't even know Hayley was going to be there until 24hours before the event. I got the tickets although I didn't even know I could get the time off work at that point. I don't think my boss could have stopped me in all honesty! My drive to Cranwell went quite horribly wrong, I was met by several delays including meeting a car accident which diverted me well off route, then I got stuck in major traffic delays because of the accident. This made me an hour later then I planned to get to Cranwell.
Once I arrived at Cranwell RAF colleage base I was instantly amazed with the setting. The performing tent was set up in front of the building and it all looked quite incredible. I was told there was no camera restrictions when I asked so I hoped that I could be somewhere near the front to enable me to take some lovely photos. I was in luck despite being later then planned.
Firstly I have to say that the RAF police officers were so wonderful throughout the show. Lovely to talk to and ever so polite and welcoming no matter whom you approached. A big thank you to them, especially one lady who I wish I got her name, but was a commissioned officer I believe and if it wasn't for her I may have not have got to meet Hayley after the show.
The band of the royal air force regiment I thought was superb. I especially loved the theme songs they did of some of the James Bond movies, especially the one of Live and Let die. My applogies for not knowing the names of the songs, i'm not very good at stuff like that!
As Paddy stated above, Hayley sang Pokarekare Ana, Ave Maria, She Moved thro' the Fair, Danny Boy, Shenandoah and Amazing Grace. I was so pleased the song Danny Boy was one of them, this is one of my favourites, but Shenandoah is my true favourite I admit. Hayley looked truly incredible and performed incredible throughout.
I thought Jim Bowen did very well on the night, I do like comedy and I often chuckled with Jim's natural and yet light hearted giggles he encouraged. Maybe that's because I was a fan of bullseye when I was younger!
All in all I thought it was a wonderful night, I was sometimes a little annoyed by somebody regularly walking right in front of the stage during performances and taking pictures which began to grate on me a little. The size of her zoom lens she could have been taking shots from ten miles away and still got a good shot.
Could I ask everybody for advise on where to save pictures for people to view. I know the HWI forum has a picture bit on it but I don't want to clog up the web space! Or would this be ok? My pictures have not come out great, i'm a little dissapointed with my shots but some have come out ok. I must take some photography lessons!
Best regards
Darren

Thanks Darren and Paddy for your reviews. Looks like Hayley was on top form again. Darren, I was also a big fan of Bullseye when it was on TV, and Jim Bowen is a very funny man. Jim was a guest on a late night quiz show a few months ago. I couldn't bring myself to go to bed until the early hours, because he was hilarious on it i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I'm so glad Hayley knows about how well she's doing in the Tweeter poll now. I wonder if she'll ever "tweet" on Twitter.
I can't wait to see some photos!
