Also the most prestigious one - Album Of The Year. Youngest ever winner, too. Amazing achievement for any artist, getting four Grammys, but at her age...

As I keep telling anyone who'll listen, "Her songs were taylor-made for swift success!" But what will she do for an encore? There's only so much teen angst you can mine before the act wears thin. For more perspective, here's an insightful article from the NY Times: Taylor Swift.

As a fan, I love her anyway, even though she sings a little 'weak' or not as great as she sometimes/mostly does. But I also understand these critics a bit.
I also wonder how long she is going to put up this 'act' everytime she wins an award (gasping for breath). When I heard/read about the 8 nominations she had for the Grammy's, I knew she would win quite a few, and I'm just a fan, far away from L.A. I'm no expert. I'm sure she knew (expected) it as well. But don't get me wrong, I understand it's pretty overwhelming to win such prices!
I just hope Taylor won't change into an arrogant brat, after winning so many awards.
She deserved her prices, she had to 'climb up the tree' all by herself. And it needs courage to step on a big stage and perform your best.
There are barely any singers who can sing proper live on stage. An award show is pretty much nerve wrecking. It's like being put under a microscope...
So my congrats to Taylor and the other winners!

Steve - third album's due later this year, so we should find out. Keeping the quality up must be a major challenge for any artist, and when you do the whole lot yourself, the pressure is on even more.
Sharon - I don't think it's an act. I think she keeps waiting for the whole world to suddenly turn around and say "Sorry, Taylor, we made a mistake. You're just not THAT good." She's in the middle of a fairytale, with this amount of success, this fast. That said, she's going to have to start realising sometime soon that she's going to keep winning all these things. She's not stupid, just kinda innocent.

True, but at some point ofcourse it will start to be a little 'unbelievable' if she keeps doing this. She IS good, many fans have proved that to her by buying her album(s).
Maybe I'm a little too serious, cause I wish I could (always) live in a fairytale like Taylor does.
I do hope that Taylor will make some more general songs in the future. A bit less about the highschool boys. Although I'm not expecting that to happen...just yet.
I didn't say she's stupid though...and didn't meant to give that idea either...she's great!

Sharon - yeah, I agree with you! I didn't think you were saying taylor was stupid, BTW, I was just drawing the contrast with innocent

Taylor just made Time magazine's 'Top 100' list of the world's most influential people. Not too shabby, huh?

TAYLOR INDUCTED INTO SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME "Taylor has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and will be awarded the Hal David Starlight Award, which highlights young songwriters whom have made a large impact in the music industry writing and recording original songs. The award presentation will be on Thursday, June 17 from the 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Dinner at the New York City Marriott Marquis hotel." I can hear the screams of all her detractors from here

Alas, America slips deeper and deeper into the quagmire of mediocrity.

Nothing against Taylor, but "hall of fame" should be reserved for those whose careers are past their prime.

Hi Steve I agree with you and I think her induction is extremely premature , if worthy at all. She does not have a large enough body of work to be in the Hall. And who knows what her staying power will be.

I look forward to it!
I hope it's a little different from her other albums.
To me 'Fearless' was quite a success. I hope I can say the same about this new album too.
