Ben - no release date yet, sadly. Larry - I'm not normally a Country fan, myself. Taylor is just... different. If her music isn't to your taste, well, there are plenty of other people who don't rate her, either. You're far from alone. You may well be missing something, or your tastes may simply not run that way. Taste is an individual thing, after all Sharon - if I didn't know better, I'd assume you were English as your grasp of the written language is excellent. As for Hayley albums - you really can't go wrong

Well, first a new MP3 player...I can really use one when I'm on the road i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. I'm a perfectionist, so I'm really crtical if it comes to language skills. I guess all the subtitles do help a lot to improve my English... Sharon

Ben...
Release date was announced today. According to Taylor's MySpace:
"The CD/DVD of "Fearless Platinum Edition" will be released Oct. 27."
Presumably, that's just in the US.

Hi Elliot,
Are you a fan of Reba McIntyre.? I saw a bio of her on TV last night and I was quite impressed at all her accomplishments. Prior to that I always liked her music.

Hi Larry Can I ask you to open a thread on Reba McIntyre if this new discussion develops any further.
Thanks Martin

Larry...
To be honest, I don't recall hearing much by her and the little I have heard did not really impress. Most Country singers can sing really well and she's no exception, but she didn't strike me as anyone who stood out from the pack, I'm afraid. Sorry.

Martin...
That's everything I have to say on Reba, so I can't see any development likely. I take it a response by me to Larry's question is OK?

Hi folks
I was frankly appalled to learn, via a discussion on Twitter, of Kanye West's shocking behaviour at Taylor Swift winning the Best Female Music Video Of The Year at the 2009 MTV VMA's. When Taylor was making her winning speech, Kanye came out of nowhere, took the mic off her and started making hurtful and offensive remarks about her.
There was absolutely no need for this show of disrespectful and hurtful behaviour.

He didn't really insult her verbally, though his actions were very insulting.
He basically said 'I'm happy for you Taylor, and I'll let you continue, but Beyonce's video is the best video of all time. OF ALL TIME!' (or something to that effect).
Beyonce looked shocked. The crowd booed. Taylor couldn't really continue with the speech, and MTV cut to a video to hide the embarressment.
Beyonce won another award later on and said something like (why don't I just find the article?) 'I remember when I was 17, and I was up for my first major award with Destiny's Child, and it was the most amazing moment of my life. I would like Taylor to come up and have her moment'.
Taylor got up on stage, gave Beyonce a hug, and finished her speech.

It was horrible the way Kanye West just came up stage and say such rubbish. I heard he did this before, but then it was himself who deserved the price instead of the one who won it then... Horrible guy and I felt really sorry for Taylor . She deserved the price just as much as Beyoncé, which got her price later anyway. This Kanye guy needs a big toe up in his....let's not say that last thing I had in mind... Well said nicola! Those were the exact words that was said. Sharon

First off, Kanye West is not a horrible guy. He was deeply loyal to Beyonce, and many people besides him felt she was robbed. Taylor Swift's video was lightweight and derivative in many ways of Avril Lavigne's "Hey, Hey, I don't like your girlfriend" video in which she played both parts -- the blond and the brunette.
There is absolutely no doubt that Beyonce's nominated video was dazzlingly original and brilliant. I'm not even a fan of Beyonce and I really really love Taylor Swift, but I think Kanye was right to a certain extent. His boorish behaviour cannot be excused, but too bad he was set up to do this in the first place.

Well, the good news is, I had never heard of either of these artists before all this happened. I only looked it up when Katherine Jenkins mentioned them both on her Twitter, and was curious as to what happened.
So great publicity, I guess!

There is just no excuse for what Kanye did. Whoever he thought should have won it, there is a time and a place to say so and taking the mic away from Taylor at her acceptance speech - her first VMA win, yet! - was definitely neither the time NOR the place.
What you've basically got is a 19 year old girl who's just had one of her big dreams trampled on by a bully who should know better.
If Kanye or anyone else wants to blog about it or rant about it on TV afterwards or otherwise slate the many people who voted Taylor the winner, well, more power to him. He has every right to his own opinions.
What no-one has the right to do is to utterly wreck someone else's big moment for no reason.

I don't have many good words for Kanye...
So I stick with my opinon. He just wants to be the centre of attention. I've seen his pictures from the red carpet, and he seemed to be very full of himself, walking around with a halfful bottle of alcoholic drink...
So I agree with Elliot...
