He has apologised, very humbly, twice since the incident.
Everyone can either keep complaining about him, or forgive or forget and move on.

This incident will die down, but there has been one heck of a backlash against him!
It can't do any favours for how his fans view him either...

For all the public damage limitation exercises, he still hasn't apologised to Taylor personally, either. That won't help.
Telling the TV audiences you're sorry and telling your blog you're sorry doesn't cut it. It's Taylor he should be apologising to. It's her he wronged.

He has said he wants to apologise to her personally. I assume, though, that he can't just pop into his automobile and drive up to her front door, you know?
There is a Twitter backlash against him at the moment. Everyone is Retweeting the following message to him:
RT @kanyewest YO PATRICK SWAYZE I KNOW YOU JUST DIED AND ALL&IMMA LET U FINISH.. BUT MICHAEL JACKSONS DEATH WAS THE BEST ONE THIS YEAR
I must admit I giggled a bit when I first saw it, but... you know... it's been repeated all day.

Apparently he has now called Taylor to apologize personally and she has accepted. So I guess we can all move on. That is until he pulls his next stunt, which inevitably he will. History doesn’t lie.
Beyonce’s video has many detractors as well. I found it trite and anything but dazzling. What was dazzling was the way she handled the moment. When someone of Beyonce’s stature does the right thing it puts into even sharper focus what a puny little man Kanye is and always has been.
And while the public outpouring of sympathy for Taylor is proper and deserved, she’s a much tougher cookie than many giver her credit for. Don’t be surprised if the Kanye story is a track on her next album.

Taylor is indeed a strong young lady... I'm sure I would have really needed to swallow my tears on a moment like that. It was really embarrasing.
I do hope she makes a very nice song about it, and wins the best video of ALL TIME with it haha
And Kanye, well, let's say, he will get what he deserves...

Hi Sharon, Kanye was on the Jay Leno show last night in the U S. He gave a lukewarm apology; but he still came across as a total jerk. Then he did a number and it mystifies me as to how anyone that is as untalented as he is can criticize another artist.

Hi Larry,
He's not really worth to be called a singer... I saw the video on Youtube... It was something he had to do, cause everybody turned against him. Did not really sound sincere to me, he's just forced to
If he want to be kept wrapped in gold, then he has to keep fans happy. And he was so stupid to think that he did a 'good thing'.
This is the last I have to say about that. Taylor got her price, I'm really happy for her. May she forget all of this very soon!

Apparently, Taylor is the first Country artist EVER to win a VMA. The warm glow from that will hopefully dispel the bad memories She has real class, that girl, as this whole incident proved. She's said not one single mean word about Kanye throughout.

Nicola, His kind of behavior is not acceptable in the U S. The apology on the Leno show last night was insincere. The performance he gave was abominable. Taylor may not be Barbara Streisand; but she's head and shoulders above Kanye West.

I wasn't aware that one persons death was any less sad than another's. Patrick Swayze and Michael Jackson were both talented performers and in death I fail to see any distinction. just another manifestation of Kanye's ignorance.

Larry:
Although I wouldn’t put it past him, in this case it wasn’t Kanye comparing deaths, it was an anonymous Internet character who photoshopped a picture of Kanye telling Patrick Swayze that Michael Jackson’s death was better than his. Poor taste to be sure, but for some funny in a black humor sort of way. And like you, I find it kind of believable given Kanye's record.

Hi everyone,
We seem to have pretty well covered all aspects of this unfortunate incident at the MTV awards so I hope we can move on now.
Don't forget, many members aren't particularly interested in Taylor Swift, even less Kanye West, but they do have to see all the posts about it if reading the "Last 50" - and there have been a lot of them recently!
Cheers, Dave

Hello Larry,
I think you misunderstood my posts and the long running twitter joke. Kanye did not compare deaths.

This kind of appeal to authority doesn't stand up in debates. We are all entitled to our opinions, regardless of what, erm, "experts" say. Taylor Swift is a teenage girl who writes songs that relate to other teenage girls like Avril Lavigne has done. I remember when I was 16 and I thought Lavigne was amazing - because I loved her attitude and all of that. Listen to it now, it's all way too immature. But that's age for you. I really wouldn't expect other demographics to relate to Swift's songs if her case is anything like Lavigne's. But I might have more to say once I give her albums a listen when they arrive for me in my library.
