Hi everyone, I’m really pleased and more than a little excited to be able to tell you that I will be going to Australia later this month to spend some time living and travelling round there! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I have a working holiday visa which will allow me to do short term paid work whilst I’m there. My immediate plans are to arrive into Brisbane on May 16th, then later on down to Sydney and then over to Melbourne. Don’t know at the moment how long I will be in Australia for, but I expect I will return to the UK probably sometime next year. If Hayley is in New Zealand during August/September then hopefully I will be able to make it there as well! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I’ve always wanted to see Australia so I’m thrilled to finally have the chance to do so. I will still contribute to the forum when I’m able to, particularly if I go to any of Hayley’s concerts in New Zealand. Best wishes, & to our Australian members I hope to be able to meet you at some point when I come over! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDavid

Wow David! That sounds like one heck of a trip. I only saw a tiny bit of Australia when I was there in 1990 so I look forward to hearing all about your travels.
Best wishes Grant

We live 110 Km South of Sydney CBD in a quite picturesque district. Our regional airport is the base for the HARS (historical aircraft restoration society) and is only a couple of kms from us. Graeme This was taken from our balcony on Anzac Day 25-4-2009. He was flying prettywell West & is still completing his turn from the baseleg. This Neptune is starting the turn to final (Western) approach.

Hi David,
Enjoy your time in Oz. I was over there last August, on a work assignment in Sydney but couldn't stay long as i had tickets for a Hayley concert in the UK.
Be sure to take Greame up on his offer. I met him when I was there, and we spent an enjoyable day together whilst he showed me around Sydney.
Martin

Thanks so much Roger, Grant, Graeme and Martin for all your kind words, I'm sure I'll have a great time in Australia! When I'll return, well as you say Roger it could be a case of if...! Love your excellent photos there Graeme, it would be great to meet you and pay a visit to the society as well as see Sydney! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I should have a firmer idea of when I'll be in Sydney once I arrive in Brisbane and will let people know. Cheers David

Gosh, I can remember that one too! Charlie Drake was brilliant! Hilarious! I wonder if this was a parody of Rolf Harris who had several hits (Tie me Kangaroo Down, Sport/Sun Arise) around that time. And I didn't even see a kangaroo when I was over there, although I saw several interesting birds. Martin

Hi David! Enjoy your time in Australia! It's a great idea to go there for a longer time. I'm sure you won't miss your chance to see Hayley in NZ when she will tour in her home country. But use the chance to go to NZ anyway while you're down under whether there'll be an NZ tour or not. NZ is always worth a journey. Best wishes, Thomas

Pleased to say that I am now safely in Brisbane Australia! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I arrived last night after 3 flights in 24 hours, from Glasgow via Dubai and Singapore, & was definitely in the mood for a sleep when I got to my hostel . I'm really looking forward to the rest of my time here and meeting up with any other Hayley fans! Best wishes David
