Hi David & All, Well, we did get to meet as the following pics will illustrate: David standing in the enormous hangar doorway. Cessna Caravan behind taking parachutists to Wollongong for their jump. We're about to go in to the Connie's cabin. The Hanger door opens straight to the West. (There actually isn't a door yet)The Cessna Caravan again. Note the easy exit door. (gulp)Graeme.

This helicopter shares the H.A.R.S. hanger. Arrived back from a mission while David & I were being shown all the different aircraft being restored or repaired.

Hi Graeme, Thanks for posting your excellent photos here, and thanks so much for showing me round yesterday, I had a great time meeting you and talking about all things Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I've got photos of my own to post here of my time in Australia so far but unfortunately I've not been able to get decent internet access on my laptop so have had to use internet cafe pcs. The museum is most interesting, they maintain pretty much all their aircraft in flying condition. Also been down to the Opera House, walked across the Harbour Bridge and taken a boat cruise around Sydney Harbour, amongst other things. Over to Melbourne this Sunday. The journey continues... Best wishes all, David

Hi Graeme, .....I've got photos of my own to post here of my time in Australia so far but unfortunately I've not been able to get decent internet access on my laptop so have had to use internet cafe pcs. Best wishes all, David One I'd never heard of...a Renault engined Messerschmitt 108 made in occupied France around 1941. Immediately behind is a Lockheed Neptune aquired from the French Navy in Tahiti. Over on the left is the Lockheed Constellation's unmistakeable 3 fin tail.Hi David, If you were to upload the pics that you want to post to mediafire & then send me the link , I could resize & post them here if you wish. Or even put them on a CD & post them to me....less time consuming. Graeme

Hi Graeme, Didn't fly on this particular equipment. I was in U S Naval Aviation. Larry I'd already guessed so much Larry !! The Navy wasn't mentioned in the list of users so I'd have been surprised if you'd said yes you were familiar with that particular aircraft. Graeme

Hi Graeme, I think the Navy had a few if my memory serves me well. However it's been fifty years ago so I'm not sure. My experience with the connie was only in commercial flights.
Be Well

Hello Graeme! CBD made me look at Google. Is that the Convention on Biological Diversity or the Commerce Business Daily? Ah, perhaps you mean the Central Business District. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Oh my goodness!! I think I would have fainted if I was confronted with a snake like that! Is holding that sort of like skydiving -- completely against human nature, but a bit of a thrill? I'd feel very uncomfortable with that thing winding itself around my neck like that! I can see that it was starting to get a grip around your leg too!! I think that I prefer the Koala! I want to go to Australia Zoo for my birthday this year, so I think that I might have some photos taken like yours! And to think that my father was so proud when he caught this in our backyard! I won't show him your snake -- he'll be jealous!

Hi Jillian, Thanks for your comments! It was certainly something I never thought I'd do, holding a huge snake like that, but actually it felt alright, if slightly nerve-wracking at first. Must admit it was hard to let go of the Koala once I was holding him! (or her? ) Both photos were taken at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary near Brisbane, well worth a trip in my opinion, though they do the same kind of thing at Australia Zoo as well. David
