Susan is big in New Zealand. She has been on all the TV news, in the papers and even on the radio. You Tube has at least 10 million visits already. She is the bookies favourite to win BGT and she is being courted by Sony to do a record. It does show that BGT is good exposure for new talent. Look at how well Paul Potts, Connie Talbot and Faryl are doing because of the show. I don't think any of the other talent shows are giving us any new talent.

Hello everyone I would not normally pay any attention to performers coming off this sort of show but, as a clip of Susan's performance appeared on my news page, I thought I would watch it. Being totally honest I found it hard to take her seriously at first so I took a leaf out of Roger's book (you can have it back later Roger ) and closed my eyes. She certainly 'sounds' good and I have to admit that even my goose bumps had goose bumps, but I wonder if that may be the song as Hayley's version has the same effect on me. Best wishes Grant

I never watch these sort of programmes.... but I was looking at the sports text on ITV and yes you guessed it, it was exactly at the time she came on !
I suppose it is similar to ' Big Brother' .....(.I don't even look at the text when that is on !) The mass population look at these at the expense of the quality Drama programmes that ITV have axed ! Hence anyone that stands out is catapulted to stardom !

A special report was shown on dutch television yesterday evening. A newsreporter travelled to Blackburn/West Lothrian, near Edinghburgh,Scotland to have an interview with Susan Boyle. I was surprised to see, a complete mediacircus, with vans ,Satelitebroadcast,Tv Reporters, were in front of her house. Maybe the world wants other news ,than financialcrisis, and wants to see, how a housewife makes her dream come true !!!

The judges seem to believe their own hype. How Amanda Holden can say on ITV news that Susan Boyle is better than Elaine Paige having heard just one song is beyond me. One thing's for sure, Simon Cowell will be loving all this publicity for his show.

I'm reserving judgement on Susan until I have heard her sing more. Yes, she sang a brilliant song well but anyone who sings it cannot fail to be moved by it. It was one of the hightlights from Les Miserables.
Good luck to Susan but there are hundreds, if not thousands of equally talented singers out there who spend their leisure time singing in choirs.

The Christchurch Press today printed an article from The Observer about Susan. It said that Elaine Page is keen to do a duet with Susan so that is good news. She has had 25 million visits on You Tube and has cracked the American market. She has appeared on Larry King Live, Good Morning America, NBC and CBS and could appear on Oprah. A friend of Susan said that I Dreamed a Dream wasn't her best song. She does a great job of The Fields Of Athenry and My Heart Will Go On (Titanic).

I read on teletext that Piers Morgan and Susan were on an American chat show and Piers asked Susan out on a date and she said yes. Of course for a lonesome soul bereft of human company and desperate for adulation, that could be quite a thrill. Susan will probably enjoy it as well.

With all due respect to Susan Boyle, I dare say she now takes a back seat to 10-year-old Hollie Steel who wowed the judges with her purer-than-pure soprano voice -- the likes of which haven't been heard since Hayley Westenra and Becky Taylor were that age. Give her a listen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOeWz2k4tTI&feature=featuredI predict Hollie will be as successful as Hayley in due course.

Hi Steve and thanks for the link. I was confused initially by the ballet dress but was amazed when she began to sing. Holly certainly has a remarkable voice for a ten year old and I agree that she could go far should she decide to make singing a career. It was interesting to hear her say that she would like to perform for the Queen because she thinks she would like her - now who do we know that keeps popping up in front of the Queen? Best wishes Grant
