I am still hoping to be able to get to this show but unfortunately Mum's illness has deteriorated since we were in Banbury. She passed out on Friday and paramedics had to be called and because she was no better, we took her to A&E on Sunday. They have diagnosed pneumonia so our visit to Bath depends how she progresses this week. Hopefully, things will go well as we are both keen to see Hayley again before the end of the year.

Hi everyone
Sorry to hear about your mum Keith - hope all is well by the weekend.
What time is everyone planning to arrive on Saturday ? I was thinking about being outside the venue for about 3pm. I hope its not as cold as it was 2 years ago - otherwise we might have to spend an hour in the Marks & Spencer furniture dept again while we wait for the dorrs to open - haha
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Best wishes Mark

See you there! Cheers, Ben

Hi Ben, Mark and everyone I'm hoping to be in Bath by about 1.15pm so should be at the venue by 2pm. There is a decent Wetherspoons about 10 minutes away where we all ate last time. I'm really having a "Hayley Christmas" this year - all concerts - no shopping! What the heck! I Love it. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

Hi everyone,
I am about to set a new record I think, for the earliest ever concert report, posted more than 24 hours before the concert. But perhaps I should point our that this is only part 1. So I'm imitating Grant in posting my report in multiple parts, and this is Part 1.
Sue and I got away from Leicester about midday, on a misty murky December morning. There had been a slight air frost the previous night, and it was still quite cold. The drive to Bath was fairly uneventful. We stopped for a coffee at Michael Wood sevices on the M5, arriving a bit after 2pm. Had a bit of a fumble locating our accommodation, but got there eventually. One of the nice things about this B & B establishment is that it has free WiFi, and I am using it to post this now.
We then walked into Bath, and was pleased to find that we are very close to the centre, there will be no need to move the car. That's good, since parking spaces seem to be at a premium. If we leave ours we might not find another one nearby. The first job being to find a cash machine, and the second to find a place to eat this evening. I also wanted to locate the concert venue, the Bath Forum. When we found Marks and Spencer I knew we couldn't be far away, since I knew that some of our members had gone in there to get warm whilst waiting for the Forum doors to open the last time Hayley appeared there two years ago. Looking at the forecast, we might be glad of it again tomorrow! Once in M & S, Sue needed to buy one or two things, but I can confirm that it is still warm in there! I was tempted to buy some of their food too, but we have nowhere to cook it in our room. Then we walked down to the Forum, which is pretty close. I was pleased to see a large sandwich board outside advertising Hayley's concert tomorrow night. But the queue had not formed yet, (I would expect to see HWI members at the front of it). But being Hayley, a queue could form anythime! Well, don't be so surprised, Sue once queued through the night to buy tickets for a concert, but then that was The Beatles! We looked at a few eating places, several of them looked a bit rowdy for our taste, and quite a few closed early, 7pm ish. But we sorted out a few possibilities in the end, then back to ur room. Where we are now. Next installment later.
Didn't find the Wetherspoons, but there is a quite similar place called the Crystal Palace round the back of M & S. I'm sure you will all find somewhere to eat tomorrow.
Are we still planning to meet outside the Forum at 3pm?
Martin

Hi Martin Thanks for the very early report from Bath i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I may be there a bit earlier but I doubt everyone will have assembled until 3 ish. The Wetherspoon's is a bit of a walk from the Forum - I seem to remember we walked up past the Forum and then turned left for a bit. We'll no doubt find it again if we decide to eat there. See you tomorrow! Best wishes Grant
