Hi, No, the concert hasn't begun so far. Just a short pre-concert report from Bath. Perhaps we'll be lucky re the weather, at least the BBC said: 'sunny at 3 pm' - and actually we had the first sunny spells this morning: Bath Abbey, today at 10:45 am Bath Forum, ...as already mentioned by Martin with a small, but relatively brightly-coloured announcement Godspeed to all coming to this concert, in particular the party in the van. Cheers, Karsten

Mum has decided although she is making progress, she isn't keen on the 120mile journey each way to Bath. Unless things change, she seems to be well enough that I am hoping to make the trip down myself. Hopefully catch up with some of you later

Concert Report Part 2
Today after breakfast we made the short walk across the bridge into Bath. Fiest was some more shopping, and a good look around, the Abbey and the Circus being highlights. There will be some photos later, although I see thar Karsten has beaten me to it.. The main shopping street was fun. Lots of steet performers, Hayley would have been at home there if she could have tolerated the cold. There was a wonderful performance by a percusion band that threatened to fill up my camera's memory card before we even got to see Hayley. But cold it was, early on grey and damp as well as cold, but the sun came out in the early afternoon. I think it always comes out for Hayley. So after a good wander about, we headed for The Forum, hoping to greet Hayley on arrival. Grant, Thomas, Karsten, Ben, Charles were already there, and Mark arrived soon afterwards. Dean we were told is on his way. Soon a sliver people carrier arrived with GianMarco at the wheel, and we managed to guide him into the smallish parking space reserved for him. Tim and Andy arrived separately. Eventually, a well wrapped up Hayley got out of the people carrier, said hello briefly before walking round the building to the stage door. She clearly didn't want to hang about in the cold, and I don't blame her. We did ascertain that there would be a signing after the show, which is a far better idea than keeping Hayley hanging about outside the stage door in the cold. So then it was off to Wetherspoons. Sue and I tagged along to find out where it was (it looks like an office block, no wonder we didn't find it earlier) the back to our B & B to write this report and get changed. Later we will return to Wetherspoons for something to eat. More later.

Part 3 Interim (because it is bed time)
So I will be brief for now. No doubt the other members present will fill in the details.
I get fed up with saying every concert is fantastic, you must all get fed up with reading it. But it was! And there were other fine performers too apart from Hayley and her band.
There were three choirs performing, the Zenith Youth Choir, the Good Afternoon Choir (who were slightly older) and the Bath Chorus. And all their performances were very enjoyable.
Hayley performed two sets, 12 songs in total.
First Half
Veni Veni Emmanuel The Christmas Song The Little Road to Bethlehem Corpus Christi Carol Prayer
Second Half
River I Know you by Heart Pokarekare Ana Peace Shall Come Silent Night.
The two encores were
Sleigh Ride O Holy Night.
This last song recieved a well deserved standing ovation. The way she sings that song with power and passion is awesome!
The promised signing after the show didn't happen, since Hayley was tired and had a long drive home. She had also said earlier that she had a slight cold, but this hadn't prevented her from giving a wonderful performance. But the HWI contingent hung around in the auditorium afterwards, and eventually Hayley joined us for a few minutes. She signed a few things for us, including my copy of Winter Magic.
This was another great night. I'm sure there will be more later. The light for photography was good, and some of us were in action, so expect some photos and videos later. But as before, it will be best I think to hold back the videos until the Winter Magic tour is over. Most of the HWI folk were three to six rows back and fairly central. The slope of the floor and height of the stage were such that there were few problems taking photos.

Hi folks
I've just got in, but i'm feeling sooo tired - I'll do my report after I've had a few hours sleep - brilliant pictures by Karsten as usual - I took some pics as well as 3 video's, of 'River', 'Pokarekare Ana' and 'Sleigh Ride'. I'll try and keep it reasonable - I won't go into too much detail, unlike my 2 previous reports from Dudley and Banbury!
See you in a few hours!
Cheers, Ben

Thanks for the gorgeous photos so far, Karsten. I like the Sleigh Ride one, too. You've just quoted a line from a Hayley song, except you left out, " and not all that strong".

As already mentioned the conditions were nearly ideal, I was only restricted by the too small focal length and the shutter noise forcing me to take pictures only during 'loud' passages. So you can expect to see a few more pictures taken from the stalls, I think. Many thanks again for the wonderful time and the very relaxed concert - to Hayley and her 'back-up', the choirs, the staff and the HWI members. Thank you very much especially to Hayley who was so kind to spend a few minutes with us after the show. And Godspeed in particular to Larry on his way back to the States. Greetings from a cold Bath, Karsten
