I like the red dress photo. I just don't like the photos where she's deliberately trying to be provocative (course, I know it's not her, probably the photographer) because it just doesn't suit her. Basically, I didn't like the photos that looked like she was trying to play up to something she is not.

I guess I'm gonna sound like a normal guy,[sorry Portia],but I think the new photos are magnificent. Stunning would be another word that comes to mind along with many other complimentry thoughts. Jeans are great to wear ,they are so very comfortable. I could live in them everyday. My favorite of the set are the red dress shots. See you all later, gotta go check my jeans in the dryer. Hi everyone; From the moment I saw the photos I knew there was going to be a bit of controversy on this forum. I think they are classy, tasteful, and very elegant. I'm thoroughly pleased with all of them, especially the ones on the sofa with the beige cloak, and the one Richard posted. But I rather think the black-top-jean photo could have been left off. It's a bit over-the-top for her age, I think. Hayley is eighteen, but she's also only eighteen. Doesn't quite suit her, in my opinion, although it is a nice picture. I love the outfit. Overall, I'm really pleased with the shoot, and how Hayley's childhood 'Pure' image has evolved since the album. I can't wait to hear and see more of her in the future. Oksana

Hi Oksana!
Good to hear another view on those pics and one this time in favour of them.
Regarding the black top one, you pick up on the fact that it is 'too mature' for her. In fact, due to a reference in my post to that maturity in an 'unorthodox' manner, the post got edited to saying it was my favourite. It isn't, in terms of how I like to see Hayley. but what it provoked in me was the question as to the purpose of promotional photos.
I don't think promo photos are intended as a statement of 'where she is now' as an intention to show 'where she might be going' and the 'newer' or 'widening' audience to which advertising is intending to pitch itself.
From that point of view, we need to see the pictures as looking a year ahead of when they will be used and as presenting different facets as part of an, as yet, unseen composition.
Anyway, it was nice to hear you liked the pics on the sofa in the beige coat.
Peter

Peter Hi Peter, That is a very valid point and one that doesn't always spring to mind. Promotional photographs are not available *only* on the day of release but will be used for many months to come - until the next promo photoshoot. Personally, I like the entire set but admittedly, some more than others. However, they indicate that Hayley has taken a quantum leap in maturing from the young girl of Pure to the grown woman of Odyssey. Perhaps it will take her most loyal supporters (like us!) a little time to accept that rapid change. Roger

Peter ,You are right ,"numbers mean the money and the ratings". Bottom line for the Music World. Most FANS do not want to see this side of the business , but it is the only thing that makes the MUSIC WORLD go round. Sorry to be so BLUNT , but that is the way it is my friend. Roger ,You are right we,[the loyal fans],probably will take some time to adjust to the "new Haylrey",almost like a parent watches his son or daughters' childhood slip away. As Bob Dylan, once said ,"there is nothing as stable as change". Struggling Parent from Allentown,PA,U.S.A; Dave Gibson

Hello everybody! I don't think Hayley is really changing at all, and I'm certain any new image is entirely Decca's idea. They probably want to promote her as a fully grown-up young lady, but having known her 30 months now there's no significant change there in my opinion! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hi Dave (Struggling Parent from Allentown,PA,U.S.A )
I totally agree with you, Peter makes me laugh with his rantings and mumblings, I understand probably less than you do, but it makes good reading. He should consider posting a few meandering words at the Yahoo group, I am sure they will appreciate his wit!

PS Peter don't stop, we love it!

Steve, I noticed you posted your thoughts about Peter on April 1st,that wasn't an April fools day statement was it ? I agree Peter should make some postings over on the Yahoo group,it would be great fun. That is where I started on the internet chat boards. Someone suggested to check out HWI,and I did feeling a little overwhelmed at first, but glad I did. TTFN,Dave Gibson

Thank you for your encouragment. I just feel your PS would be more meaningful if it hadn't been posted on April 1!!!! :2fun: However, it was after noon! As regards posting elsewhere, keeping up with this web is hard enough but I keep meaning to have a more than casual wander elsewhere, just to see what else is happening--although Roger perpetually reassures me I'm already on the best Hayley support web!!! Hey Peter ,I love the way you write,I usually laugh each time I read your thoughts and ponder what you have said, but I do not understand your quote ,about the chimpanzee. Could you elaborate my friend. Well, Hi and Thanks 'Uninformed American', says one who loves being the other side of the pond! You perhaps missed the little banter bewteen Richard and me regarding showing a larger version of that avatar I use and I ducked the invitation. Perhaps now, with your delightful, but I am sure quite deliberately naive question, I might reconsider!!! I have never regarded myself as photogenic except when having a a good make-up artist on hand or when playing a part. I.e. when NOT being me!!! To be privileged to be next to Hayley, well, does anyone really want me in the photo? However, since my waxing lyrical gives some of you on this site a sense of fun and jovial banter perhaps, perhaps, I'll go a little along the way Richard suggested. However, if I remember, when I first came on to this forum I had Richard (mischiveously?) egging me on and Roger, (hands in air in (mock?) desperation) begging Richard not to encourage me so much!!! I think he thought I said more than enough without any encouragemenrt what ever! The fact that shortly afterwards I suddenly went quiet was purely circumstantial!! The answer to your question of course is another way of expressing 'Beauty and the Beast'. I think we all know which is which... don't we? Peter

Hi Peter, long time no hear, I was beginning to think I had upset you! I must agree with Roger, this is THE site for Hayley's most loyal supporters. but it does not hurt to venture out occasionally as long as you come straight BACK! the yahoo group is lighter and less formal, but you will see some regular faces there, Steve Macdonald, Dave, Roger, 8-)and you will see a lot more of Simon's :smokin posts there. The group was pulled back from the grave recently by Simon and could always use a few new faces to add interest and variety to an already thriving group. It is worth opting for all posts to be sent to your email, it keeps you up to date with the subject matter. Steve H P.S Are you going to Wisley? or Newmarket?
