You all really need to check out the official website! They have the Odyssey (Crystal) gallery up, which shows some much more mature pictures from Hayley! She looks fab so you really must take a look!! Also, they now have the "Both Sides Now" video up for those who haven't been able to see it yet. www.hayleywestenra.com

Oh boy! oh boy! oh yes!!!, thank you for the reminder to keep checking the official site, classic grace..
The new pictures are superb. This is no child but a young woman blossoming beautifully!
Personally, I prefer Hayley in a dress because she is so elegant but the pictures of her in jeans must surely appeal to the modern young hip crowd and hopefully these will help to draw in the more obviously younger element which somehow does not seem to be running to her as I would have hoped and expected.
Those jeans pictures are young sophisticated chic. Surely, they can only help her image appeal to her own generation more?.
To me, those jeans pictures show a girl who is beginning to present the image of sultry rebel withOUT actually rebelling or being sultry. That really would be an achievement: to look the part of modern 'awkward' youth while still retaining her down-to-earth commonsense.
What's the betting that is exactly what she is aiming to do?

Now that is an interesting opinion, Richard.
I go for the jeans set and the expensive coat, especially her sitting on the chair in the black top. Perhaps because it reminds me of the famous Christine Keeler pose. I mean that reference in the way it evokes maturity, devilishness and to me a clear statement that this is a young woman with whom you do not mess around.
This is a mature Hayley. The 'child' Hayley is enchanting and a delight to have met, but I personally feel more comfortable with the mature young woman. That is what she is becoming and if she can balance that allure of maturity with the delightful naturalness of seeming innocence she is on a cloud 9 winner.
I use the term 'seeming' because her innocence is that of a worldliwise, not naive, young woman who comes across with that lovely American quote we've mentioned before, 'clean cut'. The modern image of Doris Day or Olivier Newton John.

Love to you and Crystal, Richard I'm going to get into trouble here for intertwining threads, but i do mean it sincerely, not provocatively. A 'thank you' to techies for a clear background on uploading pics. Thank you Richard for your introduction to photobucket but after three attempts at being told my username was already taken I gave up and used my own site. So, herewith (hopefuly) just to clarify my first reply to this post, the black top jeaned picture I prefer of Hayley. Peter

I don't like the new photos that much. The photos where she's supposed to be provocative look awkward and forced. The angle of her head looks wrong. And her eyes are buggy.
Sorry, but I think these are the worst Hayley promotional photos out there.

Sorry, but I think these are the worst Hayley promotional photos out there. An interesting opinion, Portia. You raise something that did not impinge on me. But can I ask, and this is directed at everyone who posts on this thread, to what extent are the views expressed views seen through the eye of the beholder, rather than the inner eye of understanding what Hayley's next stage should be, to what audience she is, or should be, directing herself and therefore the purpose the photos are intended to serve? May I suggest we all might answer each question differently? In the pictures I have previously 'quoted' none are my 'favourite'. I have seen them as pictures portraying a certain pose or character statement for which they each had a purpose and served it well. That, surely, is the criterion--purpose of the pose? Peter

Hi Tashi, Thanks for the link to the new photo's.
As Hayley becomes older it is more likely that the promotional photographs will change somewhat to mirror her maturity as a woman, whilst I appreciate where you are coming from Portia, I think we must accept that the photographers are being directed by both Hayley's Management and Record company as to the audiences they are aiming these particular photographs at.
I personally think the new photo's are tasteful without being provocative, but it would not do if we all liked the same things, the good thing about this forum is the tolerance of other posters personal views, even if we do not necessarily agree with them, some will like the new photos and some will not, but we all share one aim to see Hayley grow in stature as an international artist without loosing that personal appeal we all love.
Best Wishes
Steve H

Hi peter, we must have both been replying at the same time, and generally I think we are both singing from the same hymn book! This bits a bit heavy for a simple guy like me, I can only look out of my eyes? You must have been a solicitor in an earlier life, and I never understand them either! Nice to chat again Peter, take care Steve H

Hi portia and others, I actually feel the same way as you, however, Hayley does look beautiful and natural in the picuture Richard posted. It feels like the photographer was trying a little bit too hard to make Hayley look natural in the photoshoot, which has been the theme for both Pure and Odyssey. Perhaps I'm overanalyzing but seems to me that the body language, facial expression and the look on Hayley's eyes are conveying conflicting information. Perhaps that's the reason why the photos with her in the blue dress worked Glad they picked the best picture with Hayley in the red dress for the album cover! Allen

Thanks for your goed humoured response, Steve. Being ponderous is a fault of mine.
Very simply. What is the purpose of promo photos? To show how beautiful Hayley is.. or to create an image that will appeal to a possibly different audience and so widen her audience appeal?
Remember, love her though we all do, its the wider numbers that mean the money and the ratings. Peter
