Hi Dave and everybody,
I saw a snippet of Hayley singing Dulaman in Ulysses, New York in Close Up: Hayley Westenra on Youtube. I was wondering if anyone had a full video of her performing that song? Since there's one of her wearing the same clothes, singing The Mummers' Dance at the same place (so I'm assuming it's the same event). Thanks.
cheers, Joanne

There will be a thread about the Ulysses concert somewhere in the forum, which may provide more information but I'm not hopeful. I'll have a look for it (unless someone else gets there first). Cheers, Dave

Hi all! I've just noticed that this year, our most popular video on Youtube has been We'll Meet Again from the RAH last November. 36,478 views so far. The top 6 (this year to date) are: We'll Meet Again 10.0% The Prayer - 8.9% Flower from NHK TV Japan (Maya's video) - 8.4% Whispering Hope - 8.0% Vivo Per Lei - duet with Andrea Bocelli (US TV version) 6.1% The Moon Represents My Heart - duet with Shin (World Games 2009) 5.3% A Youtube search for "We'll Meet Again" places our video 4th. A search for "Hayley Westenra" places it on the first page, the only time we've had a video on there - and for "Vera Lynn" it is also on the first page. So well done for a fabulous and popular performance to Hayley, The Fron Choir - and Dame Vera! Dave www.youtube.com/user/hwivid

Hi Dave,
Have you noticed any trend in the rate of hits lately? My own have had a sustained increase of almost 50% this year, during which time I have added no new public videos.
This, and the steady increase in Hayley's Twitter followers, is a very positive thing I think, and might indicate that more and more people are discovering her and liking what they hear.

Only "minor" videos have been added since then. Last year before the World Games it was only 600 views a day but the World Games videos then gave a big boost. However... In "regional popularity" (the level of interest relative to all other Youtube videos) there has been a smaller 20% increase since March 2010 and the current figure is roughly what it was 2.5 years ago (early 2008) when we started the channel. My conclusion is that most of this year's increase in actual views is due to a general increase in YouTube usage but yes, some of it is an increased popularity during this year. Most interesting of all is that the "regional popularity" index is about the same as it was 2.5 years ago so there has apparently been no decline in that time, in spite of no major albums - though there has been flatlining or a slight drop in the US and UK, counterbalanced by increases in other Countries like Taiwan and Japan. Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave! It will be interesting to see what happens when Hayley starts her tour of the Far East later this month. :DRichard Well our YouTube channel video views did increase during the concerts this year but never quite managed to exceed our daily record of 3,300 which was set a day or two after Hayley's performance at The World Games last year. Monthly totals have steadily increased though, so it was just a matter of time. That time was yesterday, with a new daily record of over 3,500 views of videos on our Youtube channel. The new video For The Fallen definitely helped (nearly 900). Dave

My own channel is also breaking records right now, an average of 242 hits/day over the last two weeks (double what I was getting at the beginning of this year). Small beer in comparison I know, but it confirms the trend.
Exciting times.

Thought it worth mentioning that on our Youtube channel hwivid, we had a record 4,600 daily views for the 24 hours of 24/25th December (depending on where in the world you are). The previous highest was 3,500 which occurred a couple of months ago. It will drop away sharply now, as 33% of the views were for our 3 or 4 Christmas songs and compilations. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes, I have had the same experience. I hit nearly 500 hits/day at the peak, but the Christmas songs were in the top 3, with "Sleigh Ride" the favourite. Like you I expect it will drop away after Christmas. But it is encouraging. More and more people must be discovering Hayley.
She needs a stunning new album to wow the world!...
