I see a JBL logo on an item in the background just above the tuning head of the guitar, looks like a Go 3 Bluetooth speaker.

Sorry about the broken link…this is where the page is now… www.hayley-westenra-international.com/node/482/index.html The company that hosted the HWI website required major rewrites in coding, language and programming. Dave spent a good number of days converting each webpage into an archive site and thereby keeping 25 years of Hayley’s singing preserved!

Yes indeed, thanks for explaining that Joe. I'd hoped it would all go unnoticed but on reflection that was always a hope too far!
I'll post something about it in the website board when I get some spare time, we did lose the meaningful link names in the website conversion but there is still a search option on the front page that pops up a google search box in which, in this case, you can enter the last part of the link i.e. "hayley-concert-taiwan-videos" and it finds it. Nearly everything on the converted site (2009 to 2021) still works - far more than on the old archived site covering the 2000s decade.

Oh, I thought it would be helpful to have those recent hifi speaker posts in a better home (thanks for reminding me with your post, Paul!) so I have merged them into "Sound and Amplification" starting from here: hwi.proboards.com/post/185107/thread

Well, if I hadn't accidentally clicked that link, probably nobody would have ever been the wiser. LOL

Hello everyone, I have created from the Live from NZ DVD an HD version of Wuthering Heights, I thought it was time to add another song to my experimental upscales - modern technology does allow such improvements these days. I hope it looks and sounds OK. Happy New year to one and all!

Thanks Dave. I have just viewed it full screen on an iPad and the picture quality is just purrrrfect (as Hayley’s cat would say).

I hope it looks and sounds OK. Happy New year to one and all! Happy New Year from Japan. Thanks Dave for your big efforts. Your conversion from the NTSC signal to the 1080i HD signal is excellent. As an engineer, I found you did something great. You'd be much appreciated if you were able to do other Hayley's performances in the DVD. I'm not forcing you to do but I am expecting you to do one or two more if possible.

So happy that the Wuthering Heights video is getting so many views! It has surpassed 2000 and it is wonderful seeing all of the comments both on YouTube and on the HWI facebook page!

I will certainly look at repeating these upscales on more tracks from the DVD, there are two so far (Across The Universe using a different method, and Wuthering Heights). If anyone wants to add their preference for what to do next, please post it in here.
Dave
[technical remarks>>>] Your mention Maya of the original NTSC format has prompted me to correct my comments, the upscale format is 1080p (not i). I also added a footnote to the video description to state the exact frame and field rates of 29.97 and 59.94 respectively, I stuck to those numbers to reduce the risk of visible juddering. There are some occasional background artifacts - which are also present briefly when playing the original DVD - when displayed on some computer monitors. The only way I can think of to remove them would be to mask and blur those areas, leaving Hayley intact. But the benefits are likely to be far exceeded by the additional time it would take to get right, so unless people start to comment on it, I won't be trying that.

This video is still attracting many views and quite a lively stream of comments, people still do add comments, I wonder are they viewing it on phones or home tvs. placing a comment through a tv is no easy task. So many people don't have a PC or a laptop any more.
