Hello Roger, Thank you very much for the interesting numbers. It's funny to see that it goes from 480 to 2330 (almost 5 times bigger!). I wonder how they choose the venues. Number of seats? Or rather the venues' locations? Stephany

Hi Roger
Those seating capacities make interesting reading. Like Stephany, I'm intrigued to know how the venues were selected.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Stephany and Grant,
Like you, I was amazed at the varying capacities of each venue for the same tour. I suppose the population of a large city like Newcastle and its catchment area requires a larger venue than, for example, Barrow which is in a much more rural part of the country.
In general, venues are chosen according to their location, the expected demand for tickets and their availability on the required night.
Roger

Is there a specific reason why hayley seems to have a phobia of Leeds? Its seems strange that shes never been thre given its supposed to be the 3rd Largest city in the UK! I soend a lot of time there and there are loads fo theatres ranging form large to small that would all be ideal for a Hayley concert!

Hi Danny, That thought had never occured to me but it does seem a little surprising that Hayley has never played in Leeds. Actually, I doubted that Leeds was the third largest city in the UK but, according to CityMayors.com, it would appear to be the case. The only excuse I can offer is its close proximity to Manchester (about 43 miles) which, for some reason, always seems to win. ...Or was it merely a *Leeding* question! Roger

I will make it a mission to stress her absence from leeds to her in Stoke, if i had the money id arrange another one for her in leeds right away but as all my concerts are for charity i depend on company sponsorship, if anyone wants to sponsor then please do! lol

When chatting with the guitarist Andrew More in the green room after the Dunstable concert he said that he was going to accompany Hayley on virtually all concerts from now until the end of the year. He also confirmed that a string quartet and piano would be present for this tour and possibly vocal backing.
Sounds good.

Now we know how Hayley got to learn the guitar. Andy Moore is Hayley's tutor (seen above showing you how to hold a guitar). Andy also teaches Steve A's children.

Hi guys,
I will confess that being a basically lazy person I havent checked out the size of the venues that Hayley normally uses.
However, a couple of posts above beg a question.....are some of these venues unusually large for her? - or more specifically, is the average size of the venue larger than normal?

Hi Jon, Hayley can easily fill 700 seat venues just about anywhere in the UK but as they get above 1,000, it does get a bit harder to fill them and there have been occasions when say 2,000 seat venues have not been full, when they have been "in the wrong place". One case that comes to mind is Birmingham Symphony Hall (2200) and it is good to see they have chosen the smaller Birmingham town Hall this time (1086). I am a bit nervous about Newcastle-upon-Tyne (2135) as I don't recall Hayley performing there before (someone will correct me if I'm wrong!) but most of the others should be OK and full or nearly full. One of the larger halls that Hayley has no problem filling is Cardiff St Davids Hall (2000) and there are a few other places like that. It (Liverpool 1600 should be OK). Manchester (2300) and Newcastle are the biggest question marks for me but the well-timed new album should soon fill them up. Many thanks to Roger for the figures. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, Hayley did once appear in Newcastle (the Arena) but that was supporting Il Divo in April 2006 so the two events are not really comparable. Nevertheless, the fact that she has been seen in that city, albeit mainly by Il Divo fans, may help sales this time. The nearest she has been to Newcastle in her own concerts was Bradford (99 miles away) during the Pure tour. Roger

Roger Hi Roger and Dave, Don't forget Hayley performed in Gateshead at 'The Sage' on 14th December 2006 for a 'Christmas Presence' Concert. Gateshead is very close to Newcastle! The 'Christmas Presence' Tour was different to Hayley's regular Tours of course, since she was not performing music to promote her own Albums... (apart from 'My Gift To You'!!!) Andrew

Well done, Andrew, of course she did. How did I miss that when it is only two or three miles from Newcastle? If you want me, I'll be standing in the corner! Roger
