Hi All,

Tickets are now available from the box office on 01229 820000.

I have booked seats D14-15 for Roger and myself in the middle of the first row of tiered seating, the front three rows being on the flat and quite close to the stage.

The ticket prices are Full £22, Concession £19 , with a 50p postal charge.

I have booked for D13 for myself as I missed Bridgewater Hall front row on Sat
I have also booked tickets for friends as well so currently that is at least 7 of my friends plus myself have tickets.

Hayley Westenra is coming to town

SHE is the biggest-selling classical artist of the 21st century and has sold more than four million albums worldwide.

She’s done duets with megastars like Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli and has performed for the Queen, Tony Blair and the Dalai Lama.

And now, she is heading for Barrow.

The world-famous songstress, Hayley Westenra will be showing off her beautiful voice at Forum 28 on October 29.

Her one-night-only appearance at the Barrow arts venue is part of a UK tour, which will also see her performing at Manchester Bridgewater Hall and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

The 21-year-old, who hails from New Zealand, will thrill audiences with numbers from her greatest hits album, River of Dreams, including her spine-tingling rendition of Ave Maria.

Programming officer for Forum 28, Joanne Marwood, is delighted with the prestigious booking.

She said: “Tickets are on sale now and interest in the show has been really overwhelming.

“We are definitely expecting Hayley Westenra to be a sell-out performance.

“People are already enquiring about tickets after seeing the information on her website, so early booking is definitely recommended.

“Generally, the feeling is that this is a real coup for Barrow, and people are pleased that they do not have to travel to other larger venues in the North West to see international artists.”

Tickets for the show are priced £23 for adults and £20 for concessions.

WESTENRA SELLS OUT IN THREE DAYS

TICKETS for opera singer Hayley Westenra’s performance in Barrow have sold out in just three days.

Staff at the venue believe it is one of the fastest-selling shows they have ever had.

Joanne Marwood, programming officer, said: “We were expecting the show to sell out but not that quickly.

“It was incredible the interest we had in the concert. People couldn’t quite believe it at first, they kept asking if Hayley was really coming to Barrow.

“I just wish she was coming for more than one night.”

I know I was first in line with that question, so I'm already very excited and can't wait to welcome Hayley to South Cumbria, I just hope now that Hayley will do some autographs:)

Thank you Dean, that is incredible news. Let's hope it is repeated at the other venues across the country.

As for whether or not there will be a signing session, I have to preface my reply with the usual "It can never be absolutely guaranteed". But, as we know from past experience, Hayley genuinely likes to meet her fans and I feel sure she will do so in Barrow (and everywhere else) if she possibly can.

Yes indeed Grant, remember how fast the tickets went in a previously Hayley-starved Southampton last year?

It makes me wonder how many other places there are tucked away in the UK where Hayley would have a similar effect? Quite a few, I reckon, she seems to fill small theatres of 500 to 700 capacity readily and there are a lot of them around the UK! It does mean lots of concerts though...
