Hi! Newbie here, so I want to be sure before I post... are we allowed to talk about how to purchase the album using iTunes Japan? Hi and welcome Cherany! I'm almost certain we can talk about it! These are legit downloads. But I'm looking up some articles on the net for you..and I found that sales on iTunes Japan are restricted to Japan...not available to Americans or Britons. I don't know where you are located. Here's a link to what I was reading... www.betalogue.com/2007/01/24/slate-on-japanese-itunes-store/Best wishes from the USA, Joe

I'm in the US, and I'm able to purchase through iTunes Japan w/ an iTunes gift card from that country. This page explains it: www.jbox.com/PRODUCT/ITUNESCARDI discovered this could be done w/ other countries some time ago, but I could never find Japan on the list of countries in my iTunes program. Then today, I noticed a country listed at the very bottom, after all the other countries, in another language, which turned out to be Japan when I clicked on it. Aside from the obvious beauty of this (getting the CD for a reasonable price), you also have the luxury of previewing the songs first. They have her previous Japan-only release, as well. I've purchased a gift card & will report back how well this works, but I expect it will go just fine.

Hi Cherany and everyone, This may be of some use to a few people who play only downloads but it seems to be a very expensive way of doing things for what you get. A 1500 yen gift card will get you the standard version of Hayley Sings Japanese songs and if you have a fax machine, that will cost you $20 (they will fax the redemption number to you) but if you don't, it will cost about $25.60 (to send the gift voucher airmail) by my calculations. That converts at today's rate to 2,764 yen. Hayley's iTunes albums cost $10 in the US (though you can't get Japanese album there); it cost me 3548 yen in total to buy the special edition of this album from CD Japan, also sent by airmail, and would have cost 3167 yen to buy the standard version (11 tracks like the iTunes version) - only 400 yen extra (about $3.73). For the extra $3.73 I would have got a normal CD and artwork, as well as the ability to rip it onto an iPod. Not to mention the risk that if you do something wrong when running through the slightly complicated procedure, you might have wasted your money. Good luck to you but me? I'll stick to CD Japan! Cheers, Dave

Well, if you're not familiar w/ iTunes, then it probably does sound rather complicated. But that isn't the case for me. With the iTunes card (free delivery by e-mail), the CD is $20. Through CD Japan, even with the cheapest shipping method, the CD is about $30. And I would have to wait a while for delivery. Some people would rather have the actual CD in their hands; others would rather have the music now & are happy with the digital version. (Actually, we'd all probably prefer to be able to walk down to the nearest music store & pick up the album for about $15, or whatever amount is average.)

Hi Cherany, Maybe I'm just too old for this kind of thing, well that's what my daughters tell me! Cheers, Dave

LOL, well, different strokes for different folks, I guess. But I am very excited about this, since it'll also be a cost-effective way to get some of the tracks I've missed elsewhere (like Flood, Jekyll, etc.), along with the Japanese CD. I'm pretty much unable to think about anything else at the moment... even my dream this morning was about getting this CD! I can't wait to listen to the full-length songs! From the preview clips, I can already tell I am going to be one happy camper once I have it.

Hi Cherany, ... even my dream this morning was about getting this CD! I know how that feels. A few months ago when I knew that this album was to be released, I was having A-Levels exams. This period was the darkest of my life, and I say this with hindsight. Honestly, the eagerness of wanting to own this album kind of built up a sweet anticipation which sometimes diverted studying stress away (and also distracted me in my study too!) A word of caution: don't try too hard to open the CD case when you get it; I know you're excited but remember to do it softly, this CD costs a fortune! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifTin

Yes, good advice to those buying the hard copy, Tin. I'm actually getting the iTunes version, though, so I'll just have to be careful & back up the files right away. (I'm sometimes very slack w/ backing things up... lost a ton of music once that way when my computer died).

I'm another one who prefers to have the CD though. I can't play MP3s in the car anyway, and the CDA format gives better sound quality. Martin

I got it! Gift card worked like a charm, and I got the Japanese CD, as well as a few of her other songs that were never released in the U.S. I am one excited chick right now!

Hi Cherany, I am very glad that you got "HSJS" , and that the Gift card worked just fine. Maybe you can tell us later what you think of "Hayley Sings Japanese Songs". Greetings from Portugal, Paulo Correia

Hi Joyce,
Yes, I agree, I think it is Hayley's best album. Such a pity that is is only released in Japan, But Hayley herself told me it is unlike;y to be released anywhere else.
This morning I found myself reading the lyric of Time (around and around without a sound) to a lady whose husband of thirty odd years recently left her or another woman. I hope she didn't see that as crass insensitivity, and I don't think she did, after all, I had been showing her some of our collection of Hayley videos on my laptop. And some of those lyrics on HSJS are just amazingly mature for someone of Hayley's tender years to have written. That one, which deals with the healing effects of time, perhaps particularly so,
