Hi Peter, Thank you for your comments !!! I was a bit of a tomboy in those early years...used to climb the tallest trees and run the fastest at school !!! No use wearing pretty skirts !!! I look world weary at 10, Peter...grew up in a refugee camp feeling very conscious of my low status compared to the lovely houses around me ! A very happy book worm, though !! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThere you go !! Can't wait for your pics. !! Love, Marianne

I was wondering how I was going to recognise you at Cadogan next month but now it will be easy. Will you be the one with the dress to compete with Hayley? Maybe we should start a 'Favourite Dress' poll for Roger? (Roger, we are making you regret this, aren't we?). Anyways, I've got a couple of new photos to share... both of them are melting frost on my window at sunset. Neither has been adjusted in any way, except cropping. Oksy

If I had seen a frosted window, especially through curtains, I would never have thought of taking a photograph of it. You definitely have an eye for these things. Roger

Great pictures everyone! Here is one from a recent ice storm. There were about 2 inches of ice at my parents house. We didn't really get any ice on the trees (as reflected in this picture, just enough for a little sparkle). 20 minutes east of where my parents live they got 2 inches of ice on their trees. I think somewhere around 95% of their trees were damaged--most to the point where they would have to be removed. And unfortunately the power lines didn't fair much better. Katie

Hi Katie, First of all, congratulations on making your 100th post! I can't believe the deep indigo colour of the sky in your latest picture. I'm not sure we ever get ice laying on the branches of trees in the UK. Icicles may suspend from them and snow on the ground can become compacted into ice but I can't imagin in 2" thick. It is fairly rare but we have an inch of snow here today. I'm staying indoors! Roger

I made one or two comments in previous posts that snow was no longer part of our scene, excepting Scotland. This morning, in total astonishment, I woke up for the first time in years to find.. snow all over. Looking very pretty. Now, some six hours later it has effectively disappeared but we took my friend's dog out for a walk and he loved this fascinating stuff he could eat, drink and roll over in. I took my camera with me but the battery needs recharging before I download and see if there is anything worth posting.

Congratulations on your century, Katie! There was about half an inch of snow in South London this morning, the first real snow for three or four years, but I put my snowboots on and managed to struggle in to the Internet Café. I'll be very surprised if the snow's still there when I get home, but we might get some more tonight! Best Wishes, Richard
