I certainly can't compete with Joe's Phantom but if anybody can identify this flag then I'll post more shots of to what it belongs.Graemek

I certainly can't compete with Joe's Phantom but if anybody can identify this flag then I'll post more shots of to what it belongs. After some research, Graeme, I learned that this flag is from the United East India Company. The 'VOC' refers to Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie. Here's an extract from this website I found... "More common was the use of the company's cypher, a combination of the letters VOC (Vereenigde Nederlandsche Oost Indische Compagnie), over which a small letter C for Cabo (Cape), was sometimes placed. The flag flown was either that of the Netherlands, or that of the Company, which was the Netherlands flag bearing the Company's cypher". Note that the above does not specifically mention a flag with the Company's cypher with above it a small letter C. It does show us that such a cypher combination existed however and that its use on flags used on ships with the Cape of Good Hope as their homeport must assumed to have been in use. " Very interesting...please post more photos then! Cheers, Joe Extract taken from "FOTW Flags Of The World website at flagspot.net/flags/"

Today for Halloween I dressed up as our very own Hayley. Unfortunately I had to dance early in the morning and it messed up my hair, but I figure I was going for the 'Pure' tour look instead of Odyssey. Since I was Hayley today I decided to give a little concert! So I sang 'Never Saw Blue'; 'Prayer'; 'Down to the River'; and 'The Water is Wide' i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Thanks to my friend Tony for taking these pictures! and finally..."Hayley with an Angel!" <3 Caite

Joe! Thanks for sharing your picture. And your costume is great! I can see why you got third. Congrats. How many people dressed up for work? What other kinds of costumes were there? I'm curious! <3 Caite

Great photos, Caite...our other "singing ballerina" Since you were Hayley for Halloween, I reckon that lovely dress you're wearing can qualify in the 'favourite Hayley dress' competition! Here's a smile for you Joe

I'm curious! <3 Caite Hi Caite Only seven others dressed up. There was a fireman, a nun, an old man, a gorilla, Indiana Jones, a gambler, and a Latin bandito. My brother was the Latin bandito. Everyone in costume who didn't win received $10 Here are more pics from the day... Another pic of me My brother John My supervisor as a gambler...note the lottery tickets stuck to her! She won 2nd place and $30 so she could gamble more! Enjoy Joe Edit: I've added tags to display the photographs. Richard

Well done Joe, 'united east india company' would be a reasonable translation. (& Caite that's very brave of you.Did you record your singing? One of my fascinations with Hayley is that she can sing [& rather well] & I can't. {at all} ) Here's the Dutch ship replica in Wollongong Harbour about 20 mins drive from our place till tomorrow morning. It's 1: 1 scale & therefore not a large ship. Before I give you the ship's name I'd be curious if you could dig up any info on that red lion flag. I can't & I've tried. Maybe somebody could give me the ships name?? If not I'll post another shot with a clue. Graemek

Hi Caite & Joe
Great pictures of you both dressing up for halloween ! Joe, I thought that you should have at least won first prize !!.
That was certainly a "Hayley dress" Caite, I think your hair looks just fine but your right, more lke Hayley did at the time she made Pure. The only thing is, I wish your pictures had sound, because I would love to hear you singing Hayley's songs, particularly Never Saw Blue, as you know, that is my absolute favorite !
Thanks for sharing these with us
Mark.

Fabulous photographs, Caite and Joe! Caite, you made a much more convincing Hayley than I did in Covent Garden a couple of weeks ago! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifJoe, your photographs are too good to hide as links, so I added the tags to display them in your post. Best Wishes, Richard
