Hi all, I can only agree with you, Joe. Hayley is such a wonderful person, I knew that the moment I met her. Keith: How uplifted you must have felt when Hayley dedicated that song to you. What a beautiful gesture of comfort! I love her for that! I do admire you for the bravery and the humor with which you face your terrible illness and I hope that the treatment you receive will allow you to live a relatively normal and painfree life. Please receive my best wishes! Your friend, Holger

Hello Keith... How truly fitting that Hayley should dedicate a song to you! I admire your attitude towards all you have had to deal with recently. Your strength and kindness has been unwaivering. I'll be celebrating my 2nd anniversary with HWI soon; which I'm so thankful to be associated with. Right then. Will keep you in my thoughts! Joe

Hello Keith! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at Hayley's concert in Liverpool, but I thought you didn't like the east side of the Mersey!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI hope the chemo-therapy will be successful, and please carry on being positive. I'll be thinking about you. Best Wishes from both sides of the Thames, Richard

Hi Keith,
It was so good to see you in Liverpool on Tuesday and I was delighted when Hayley dedicated her second song of the evening to you. More than anything, I was (and am) very proud to know you. You have *blamed" the team for the success of HWI but, if it wasn't for you, it wouldn't exist and none of us would know one another. You deserve the public acknowledgement that Hayley gave you and we both know her well enough to know her words were sincere.
Like Joe, I will also be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my association with HWI very soon and that is certainly something worth celebrating.
I am just going to mention very briefly that I have had an extremely traumatic year because of health and other personal difficulties. Many people tried to help but the one person who really pulled me through was Keith. His patience and understanding and his unfailing support and encouragement has resulted in almost total recovery (the rest will take a little longer but will be achieved). And so I will say publically, Keith, a sincere and very grateful THANK YOU.
Roger

UPDATE ON "THE MAN"Welcome to Clatterbridge Centre for OncologyCCO is one of the largest cancer centres in the UK with nearly 7000 new patients being registered each year together with many thousands of initial and follow up appointments. Many of these clinics are run in the surrounding general hospitals of Merseyside, Cheshire and the Isle of Man. CCO also hosts several other organisations which are externally funded, these being the Merseyside & Cheshire Cancer Research Network (MCCRN), Merseyside & Cheshire Cancer Network (MCCN) and the National Cancer Statistical Analysis Team (NatCanSat). We are a specialist cancer centre delivering treatment for our patients through our radiotherapy and chemotherapy services. To help us we have state of the art imaging services to detect and plan treatment together with supportive care from nursing and allied health professionals to address the palliative aspects of care and needs of family supporters. This is greatly assisted from our Macmillan Information Centre. Our Aims are:To provide the best possible standard of care and continuous improvement in cancer treatment, care and support. To promote and support research into cancer treatment and care. We treat most of our patients as out-patients or day cases and much of our chemotherapy is delivered at the associated general hospitals nearest to the patients home. Information on all our services is contained later in this website. If you have any comments on the contents of our website we would be pleased to receive them and particularly where you feel more is required or something has not been included at all. Tony Halsall - Chief Executive___________ :bat: __________ Long time no update on Keith's progress... Sorry about that folks, but it has been a bit of a roller-coaster, and with nothing positive to report, no report could be made. Equally, I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings. Such is NOT the case today! So, now you all know where he is at the moment, and the level of care available to him. Quite probably the best care in the land... A little before three this afternoon I received a call from an unrecognised number. Imagine my surprise and delight when the caller turned out to be none other than our dear friend Keith - calling from the hospital foyer. Today is his first time out of bed since he was admitted - unaided except for the strong female arm of an OT (Occupational Therapist) in support - and he made the most of the break by "christening" his brand new mobile 'phone. Keith has always decried the validity of owning such a wasteful resource, but thanks to a local Santa now has one of his very own and has already found it to be very, very useful tool! There is now talk of the possibility of him going home on Monday of next week - nothing set in concrete, bearing in mind the roller-coaster syndrome - but both wheelchair and D-Frame (to aid walking) will be delivered to his home in readiness. Once home his two main tasks are to get both fitter and stronger in order for the much needed Chemo regime to be started... That could take several weeks, but the road to recovery is now firmly set in forward gear, and that can only be good for everyone, especially for Keith!! So... Watch out... Our quietly running little Forum is about to be headed up by "the man" again. Life as we know it may never be the same. Thanks to everyone who has voiced their support, or simply kept him in their mind and heart, during what has been a traumatic time for all. Add your best wishes and welcome home messages to this thread please... And make sure there's loads of 'em!!!Simon (Santa in the sky with diamonds - actually, they're tears of happiness - but don't tell anyone, will you? Lol)
