It is likely that Hayley will record between 15 and 20 songs from which 12 to 14 would subsequently be selected for the original version of the album. Even when those recordings have been made it is almost certain that we would have no clue to the possible tracklisting for some time. Such details (and the album title) are always a closely guarded secret until a few weeks prior to the release. Sorry, but I think we have to wait a while yet. Anyone fancy a game of Scrabble? Roger

Hi tinmeigut, We don't really know anything about it either except that it has been said that there will be one. I don't think we have a thread yet so, if anyone hears any details, please feel free to start one. What's the betting that Stephany will now give a link to an existing thread that I couldn't find?! I'm sure she knows this forum better than I do! Roger

Hello, You are right Roger, there is no thread about this new Japanese album. But Dave did mention that there would be an album made in 2008 specifically for the Japanese market HERE (it's actually the first post of this thread). No albums are currently planned for release in the Spring of 2008 but there may be an album released for the Japanese market in the early Summer, which sounds like it will be one to watch. She is touring Japan in June 2008 so I guess it wouldn't be too surprising if the CD's release date was coinciding with the Pure Voice Tour. Stephany

Hi Stephany,
Yes that's my take on it too (the Japan tour and album release at the same time). I worded my post carefully (at Steve's request) regarding release dates but the tentative tour details that you found do point to a June release in Japan. I decided not to start a separate thread at the time because we didn't have any firm information about it - and we still don't.
It seems to me from what we've read and heard that Hayley will start work on the Japan album soon after her next return to the UK, probably in early March. She may also start work on the 4th International album in March but of course, I don't know if there will be enough time to finish both of them in March.
It will be interesting to see how many (if any) tracks appear on both the Japan and International albums!
Cheers, Dave

Hi ! Guys ! One thing that I am very concerned is that what style Hayley would choose for her 4th international album . Would it be very "personal" , like Treasure , or would it be "more commercial and market-oriented" , like Odyssey . One thing that I have noticed over the years is that Lesley Garrett and Katherine Jenkins will NEVER produce "personal" albums . All of Lesley's and Katherine's album are very "safe and commerical". This strategy actually has its own merits . It can almost ensure a certain number of guaranteed CD sales because the market would generally accept them . So what would Hayley choose to do ?? Or DECCA would give her some "orders" to produce a certain type of album

Hi Chungchungxavier, At the moment, I doubt if anyone knows the answer for certain - possibly not even Hayley although she will have some ideas by now. The only clue to the eventual tracklisting is that Hayley has indicated her wish to include her own material on her future albums. My expectation is that one or two may appear on the next one. I don't think Decca would order her to produce the exact album of their choice, and I don't think Hayley would let them but they would, quite rightly, have some say in the matter. Now this is a complete guess on my part - I feel she would only include a Maori song occasionally - perhaps every second or third album from now on. I am therefore not expecting one this time. But I may be wrong! Roger

nooooo! I need another Maori song!!!!!
I have a guess for the albums, but I think its wrong: a Christmas album, which would explain why it was released later in the year than Treasure. Prehaps it will have a bonus Christmas disk with the Maori Christmas song sung at one of her Christmas concerts last year
Need... new... music!

NL,
There has been LOTS of new stuff recently. I was counting my purchases recently. In the last year or so four new albums featuring Hayley, plus another one on order and another one to be released in March! That's pretty prolific in my book!
Reading the Cinfonia interview thread, it occurred to me that "Princess of Light", the name which James Horner gave to Hayley and Pocohontas, would be a good title for the next album. I thought it was a lovely title, and very appropriate for Hayley.

yeah, I know there's a lot of new stuff. the only problem is I can't get them without parental permission, which is kinda hard to get if you spend all day asking for something else (of Hayleys) if you see what I mean.

Hi Libby, I would be very surprised if anyone in Japan (or anwhere else for that matter) knew for sure that YRMU would be on the next album just yet. The final tracklisting for any given version is unlikely to be decided until at least 18 tracks have been recorded and the recording sessions haven't even begun yet. YRMU may well have been shortlisted but that is not likely to be known by anyone other than Hayley, her musical director, her manager and her record company and they would not reveal details until shortly before the release. Here is what someone from Japan said on the official forum: "If I am a clever DECCA's staff, First of all, I will inform you that the song will be recorded in JP version, to help you to be able to decide to order it, and You will become happy to get two or more versions of her CDs." However, he also said: "About 'You raise Me Up', even if I believe that firmly, I think there is nothing to be certain. But I believe many 'wish' or 'believing' are useful infomation for her and DECCA to know how many people would like to hear that song on CD."

Vivo Per Lei is a good choice. Her duet with Andrea on the ice is very impressive!

Maybe Hayley could sing "Romanza" for Graeme.

Oh yes Romanza!! I remember she once sang it in RW's concert in NZ. It was an amazing voice! I'd like to hear Hayley sing it with her current voice.
