Thanks Roger! Now I can post "Danny Boy" .............TimJ Oh Danny boy, the pipes ,the pipes are calling From glen to glen , and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you ,'tis you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow And I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so. And if you come when all the flowers are dying And I am dead, as dead I well may be You'll come and find the place where I am lying And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me. But I will hear tho' soft [/b you tread above me And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.
Edit by Dave: As the word highlighted in blue is unclear, we'll go with the 'official' word from Ireland Information.com

Now that the album is out, can anyone tell me if the CD booklet contains lyrics? ? Dori

Hi Dori, No, the booklet unfortunately does not contain any lyrics !! They are of course obtainable! Hayley's diction is so distinct to me, that I am mostly happy not to worry about reading the lyrics on paper ! Well, that's my opinion anyway ! Love, Marianne

I know that for Odyssey there were no lyrics in the booklet, but the Japanese version had a seperate booklet also that included lyrics in English and Japanese. Hopefully the same will be true for Treasure since I will be getting the Japanese version. I'll just be happy to get the cd! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Santa Lucia
Sul mare luccica l'astro d'argento. Placida e l'onda, prospero il vento. Sul mare luccica l'astro d'argento. Placida e l'onda, prospero il vento.
Venite all'agile barchetta mia! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia! Venite all'agile barchetta mia! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
O dolce Napoli, o suol beato, ove sorridere volle il creato! O dolce Napoli, o suol beato, ove sorridere volle il creato!
Venite all'agile barchetta mia! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia! Venite all'agile barchetta mia! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
English translation: The silver star shines on the sea, the waves are gentle, the wind is favourable.
Come to my swift little boat! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!
O dear Naples, o blessed land, where creation was pleased to smile!
Come to my swift little boat! Santa Lucia! Santa Lucia!

Hi mountaingirl,
Thank you very much for posting the words of 'Santa Lucia'. I was worried that nobody would provide those in a foreign language!
As I was reading your post and listening to the song, I wished we could have the English translation. By the time it had finished playing, and as though by magic, you had edited them in! So that's thank you twice!
Roger

So now I can add the lyrics to "Bist Du Bei Mir".
I must say that I love this song for quite a long time now and as I never understood the lyrics (because the singer's German was too bad). Now I know it's a really very sad song.
English translation by nassbirne:
If you’re with me, I’m gonna die and rest with delight. Oh, how merry would my passing be, your lovely hands would close my faithful eyes! If you’re with me, I’m gonna die and rest with delight.
(Charlotte Church used these lyrics:
If Thou art near when life is closing All joyful shall I fall asleep, Be Thou with me as I awaken, And claim my soul when I arise If Thou art near when life is closing, All joyful shall I fall asleep, Ah, how serene, were thus my passing, Thy tender hand upraised in blessing Would sanctify my slumber deep Be Thou with me, as I awaken And claim my soul when I arise.)

Well, that's a cheerful little ditty, isn't it? Somehow the lyrics are not what I had expected from this delightfully attractive melody. Nevertheless, thank you for posting them, Frauke and nassbirne for the translation. Roger

The Heart Worships
Silence in Heav'n, Silence on Earth Silence within! Thy hush, O Lord, O'er all the world covers the din. I do not fear to speak of thee in mortal kind And yet to all thy namelessness I am not blind. Only I need and kneel again Thy touch to win; Silence in Heav'n Silence on Earth Silence within!

Hello Mark and everybody! I've found the lyrics of 'Summer Fly' on the composer's website: www.cherylwheeler.com/songs/sf.htmlEdit: I've checked the lyrics in HMV, 150 Oxford Street where 'Treasure' is on a listening post, and Hayley sings a few slightly different words. Here are the lyrics as sung on the album:- Summer Fly Words And Music By: Cheryl Wheeler In another younger day I could dream the time away In the universe inside my room And the world was really mine from June till September And if it wasn't really so I was lucky not to know And I was lucky not to wonder why 'cause a summertime is all that I remember Summer fly was buzzin' every night When I was young In the gentle world my childlike senses knew And the world was just my cousin And the wind was just the tongue In the voice my lonely moments listened to And I look at me today all the dreams have gone away And I'm where I never thought I'd be Seein' things I never thought I'd see happen to me And I lie awake at night till the darkness turns to light Hearin' voices callin' out my name Callin' over and again the same message to me Cryin' who's your partner, who's your darlin', who's your baby now? Who wakes up at night to pull you in It don't matter, you just make her* lonely anyhow Don't know why you even try to win 10/28/79 (P) May 27, 2003
Penrod And Higgins Music / Amachrist Music ACF Music Group International Copyright Reserved * Hayley sings the last part three times. The first and third times she sings "him" instead of "her". Best Wishes, Richard

Summer Rain
Days of burning sun Watch the colours run Into pools that catch the eye Disappear as you pass by
You’re my summer rain You’re my summer rain And I know that I’ll see you again And I know that I’ll see you again
Hear my prayer Answer my call Breathe life into my soul I am waiting for you to show Come and hold me so
You’re my summer rain You’re my summer rain And I know that I’ll see you again And I know that I’ll see you again
Dreams of a day with you Fading away
You’re my summer rain You’re my summer rain And I know and I know and I know that I’ll see you again And I know and I know and I know that I’ll see you again Summer rain You’re my summer rain And I know and I know and I know that I’ll see you again And I know and I know and I know that I’ll see you again Ah huh ah Summer rain Ah huh ah Summer rain
