Promotion of 'Treasure' Album

I'm sure you will all agree that Dave and Roger have worked wonders on the 'HWI' Home Page with the latest additions of screen shots to promote the imminent release of Hayley's new 'Treasure' album WOW!

Thanks, Andrew. Actually, the new Home Page was almost entirely Dave's project with only the occasional interference from me.

Incidentally, the old Home Page can still be seen. It can be accessed from the first link on the Biographies menu page.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your kind comments... as Decca won't yet let us post any clips, we thought we'd better do something! Oh, and Roger was more involved in it than he'd have you believe! There is more to come, when we think we can can get away with it!

This is a useful thread title (thanks Andrew) so I thought I'd expand the subject matter a bit to include Treasure promotion on any website (or other source) so we can get a feel for how much effort is being put into its promotion... which will obviously affect how well it does on release. So far, the signs are good.

Today, Amazon UK has posted the Treasure promo video from Hayley's official website as the main event on the Amazon Classical Index page and obviously on the actual Treasure album page as well. This and some other signs that we've seen make me think Decca are going to put a lot of effort into promoting Treasure so they must think it's a good album and that it will do well.

Incidentally, if you search Amazon UK for Hayley's name there are two identical entries for Treasure (UK) except one of them now says "limited availability". They added it twice to their database and people were ordering both - splitting the orders and lowering its Amazon chart position. So I used their "amendments" box to ask them to drop one of them and they acted - within 2 days. People are only ordering the other one now - but I wish they would actually delete the duplicate, grrr!

There is a subtle clue in Dave's words, folks. The word "yet" is very significant. We DO actually have Decca's agreement to use 30-40 second clips on HWI but not before they appear on hw.com which seems perfectly reasonable. We will, of course, let you know as soon as we have added them. The expectation is that it might be about two weeks from now.

The Treasure vid includes a little timer at the bottom. It reaches :07 right when Hayley sings the word "seven".

Thanks for posting info about "Treasure" on my Cottars forum. As you have seen, instead of Hayley being a sub-board under 'Other Artists' , she now has her own board.

Since my forum comprises of mostly young Canadians, I trust that the Celtic-themed songs will appeal to them.

I have a suggestion for you and everybody in the USA. How about sending requests for tracks from 'Treasure' to your local and national radio stations? If Hayley gets plenty of airplay she'll make a very big impression, especially following on from the televised Celtic Woman show.
