Hello everyone, I find myself in a quandary! I have an interesting article that I've scanned from today's Music Week (trade) magazine in the UK. It discusses the campaign to promote Treasure in the UK and Celtic Treasure in the US. But where to post it? A new thread in the Media board, the 'Promotion of Celtic Treasure', or 'Promotion of Treasure' thread in this Treasure board? Well now i've decided, so here it is. Watch out all you UK expat Aussies and Kiwis! There is some very interesting (though incomplete) news too, about Hayley's next recording project in the summer (West Side Story CD) And what seems to be an update on the scheduled broadcast dates for the BBC drama series "Jekyll" What a pity these people keep sticking an "s" on the end of "Treasure" Roger does know some more about the West Side Story project; I wonder if, now that 'the cat is out of the bag', you are able to expand upon what the article says, Roger? If not, we will all understand! Hmmm.... www.nznewsuk.co.uk/ is mentioned in the article... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

It's good to know that something's coming from Roger on this! I hope we'll hear more about it tonight. (I'll say an Ave Maria.) I feel pretty good knowing that somewhere in Hayley's career she'll take a stab a this excellent musical from America.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the article. The fact that West Side Story was mentioned came as a surprise because my understanding was that all news about it was still strictly embargoed. As that appears to be no longer the case, I will start a new thread on it just as soon as I work out where to put it! There is not a great deal more news that I can add though.
Roger

Hi Dave and everyone, Many thanks for the article. It was clearly interesting to see how they intend to break the market. It's impressive to see how much confidence they have. They trust Hayley's potential - but I still think they don't promote her as much as they should.

If you do then I'll tell Officer Krupke. Cool Martin

Hi All, Tonight at my local branch of 'Sainsbury's' I couldn't resist some "Dave Ludlow style jiggery-pokery" with a number of copies of 'Treasure' in the CD section of the store... Here is the result of my rather quick handywork! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif(I think I got away with it too! ) This CD is certainly "Deal of the Week" at the very modest sale price of £9.79 in Sainsbury's! Hopefully my quick shuffling should draw plenty of attention to promote the CD further to the "punters"... I just ran off afterwards! Andrew

Hi All, BTW... There are some really cool multimedia touchscreen systems within some branches of 'Sainsbury's'. These systems are linked to a remote central computer and they are updated weekly- according to the CDs which are in the Charts. The process operates as follows: 1. Potential customers choose a CD which they would like to hear some sample tracks from by selecting the CD of their choice by clicking on the picture on the touchscreen as shown below; ( I have taken a few photographs of the screens for illustration purposes) 2. The potential customer then selects a track from the CD in order to listen to a sample of it (approx 2-3 minutes maximum of playback can then be heard). As the CD track sound sample plays some sound wave animation is displayed in synchronisation to the music! The left and right stereo channels are also displayed at the bottom of the screen... Here is a snapshot of the sound waves on the playback of the sample track 'Whispering Hope': Here is a snapshot of the sound waves on the playback of the sample track 'Santa Lucia': Here is a snapshot of the sound waves on the playback of the sample track 'Bist Du Bei Mir': Hey... you can probably tell that I was rather preoccupied with all of this? Well I didn't stop there- I was also "armed" with my DVD Camcorder and have managed to capture some samples of the sound and animation onto a DVD minidisc! Perhaps I will ask Dave if he thinks they're good enough to load up onto the main 'HWI' site so that you can all see them... I can tell you, they're great fun!!! I was hooked! Andrew

Hi Andrew, Many thanks for describing the touchscreen sound systems. I haven't seen them in my local Sainsburys. Perhaps it is a Scottish thing! 1. Potential customers choose a CD which they would like to hear some sample tracks... Andrew I don't understand the term " potential customer". Surely, they couldn't possibly not buy Hayley's CDs, could they? Roger

Hello Andrew! Thanks for posting the pictures. I haven't seen any touchscreens like that in Sainsbury's either, but I'll keep a look out. I'm having great difficulty keeping away from HMV round the corner, because 'Treasure' is on one of the listening posts at the moment. I have to listen to a few tracks whenever I'm in there! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

I visited the Warehouse the afternoon which is very well stocked, Its good to see Hayley's Cd's back in there as for months in the Eastgate one there has only been 1 Odyssey CD and a couple of tapes Odyssey. On their chart its number 2 The first day it was in store at the CD & DVD store it was number one in Their charts. The Sounds Cd store appears to have the same prominent display right near the door full only of treasure. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifwhich does not surprise me as i associate Hayley with the sounds. The man in Sounds South City had a great display way back in history of Walking in the Air He always would promote local talent. Belinda

Hey Belinda, Any chances you can take a photograph of Sounds promotion of Treasure? Borders didn't have a huge display (at least not on the floor i was on). I had a lecture so i had to rush in and out... Haven't been to the Warehouse yet... Dori
