Indeed, they might try to cobble something together. And a relaunch of Pure might not be a bad idea (with perhaps a couple of new tracks added)

I've had a few days to listen to this now (notably stuck on the M4 after a major accident). She really does have a beautiful pure voice. I am not over keen on the heavier type of classical music but Hayley seems to deliver even those with such a pure voice it really lightens the performance. Summer Fly is without a doubt my favourite on this album and I also love Summer Rain, I have played both of those over and over. Danny Boy and Abide with me are not amongst my favourite all time songs though. They seem to be the choice of a lot of classical crossover artists to put on their albums so there must be an audience for them.
Either way, I have really enjoyed listening to this album. Taking into account I prefer Classical Crossover can you recommend another album of Hayley's I might enjoy?

I have never had any doubt about my favourite track on Treaure. "Abide With Me". So beautiful, and powerful, and the way she sings it is masterly. Even to cutting off the final note....

Martin! Abide with me was the first song I heard of Hayley that made me want to look for more Definitely my favourite too! And Annime, based on your likes I think you should try out "Prayer" one of her best collections

Hi Annime,
Best advice I can give is to look up her albums and find the track lists. Then go to youtube and sample a few tracks and see which you like best. Remember with Hayley even in the most classical songs she does not resort to excessive vibrato or the (in my opinion) over pronunciation you sometimes get with opera singers. If you use itunes you can probably hear samples of her albums on there. Personally I ended up buying all of her international releases plus the Japanese songs 1 & 2 and I play them all regularly.
If you were to ask any 6 people on here their favourite album and favourite track from that album you would almost certainly get six different answers. I have never been disappointed although I can understand what Libby means about Hushabye's lack of variety.

Yes, much as I love Hushabye, and I played it in the car again today, it is not the album I would recommend to someone who was just starting with Hayley. Pure, Odyssey, Treasure, and her Japanese songs albums, then perhaps Paradiso if you are hooked and like Ennio Morricone's music. I would also recommend "A New Journey" by Celtic Woman (which includes Hayley).
Actually Prayer, a Japanese album of film music by Hayley is very good too, and had some unique stuff.

If you so decide, you might consider CD Japan. I used them, and others here on HWI have spoken well of them. www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UCCL-1120 BobS Oooops! Just noticed - Out of Print.

Annmie,
The only drawback with "Prayer" or either of the Hayley sings Japanese songs is that you may well be charged VAT by customs on its entry to the UK. If you are it will be collected by Royal mail and they will add £8. (£15+£3VAT+£8charges)making the total £26.00+. Also although they quote a price of £15.12 they also say it is out of print.

Yeah, though based on the fact that you liked the upbeat Summerfly, I think you shouldn't miss out on the "You are water" from Prayer, which is one of my favourites. And has a lot of variety too, the whole album as such.

Hi annime, I recommend... all of her albums! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBut it's good to start a little bit at a time, of course. But I'll go with Odyssey, and then maybe Prayer at the same time, or very soon after. Because it fills in the gaps caused by the many versions of Odyssey, plus a few versions of Treasure. For example, the US version of Treasure is called Celtic Treasure, which of course, is a bit more on the Celtic side than the UK version. That's because that's when Hayley temporarily joined Celtic Woman, and so her record company wanted to cater to her new fans gained from touring with CW. I can't remember if the UK version of Odyssey has Never Saw Blue or not, but I hope so, otherwise you'll missing it. In that case, I'm happy I'm in the US, because that's one of my all-time favorite Hayley songs.

I think I get your thoughts! All her albums are great and there will probably be a mix of songs on all of them that I will love and maybe not love! TBH I think that goes for all artists in this genre! The fans have diverse tastes and the artist tries to cater for all tastes on each album! I will go and look up the tracks on You Tube.......in the meantime I love Treasure (but forgive me for skipping Danny Boy and Abide with me

I will go and look up the tracks on You Tube.......in the meantime I love Treasure (but forgive me for skipping Danny Boy and Abide with me Well, I'm not saying there are songs you might not love. Well, I guess there have been a few that aren't my favorite (aside from Hushabye) which just so happen to be other people's favorites. I'm not overly-crazy over the Caccini Ave Maria; it's lovely, but it's not one I get out the CD for. If the CD's on, then I'll usually let it play, but it's at the bottom of the Odyssey pile for me. That and Both Sides Now. It's nice too, but I heard it so much back then that it got a little old for me. But I know Hayley likes Joni Mitchell, so I'm guessing it's among her favorites, but it's just not one of mine. I can't think of anything on Treasure or Pure I don't like, though. Danny Boy isn't just another classical song for Hayley to sing, she sang it because I think it was something her grandmother used to sing, and that was kind of the whole purpose for Treasure, to sing songs that were a part of her family and ancestry, and such. You at least have to admit that Hayley's Danny Boy is the best version in the world.
