Hi Ben, Can we cheat and put the capo on the 6th fret and play E minor, A minor and B7? Actually, forget it - I haven't got a capo! Roger PS. Come to think of it, I haven't even got a guitar!

Can we cheat and put the capo on the 6th fret and play E minor, A minor and B7? Lol I play guitar, but I have no idea - does that actually work? Are those the same chords? I guess I could grab the guitar and test it out...

Hi Jono, Provided I transposed Ben's chord sequence correctly, then yes, they are the same chords (or at least an inversion of them). My chords are threee semitones (steps) lower than his which is compensated for the fact that I put the capo three frets higher. It's just that my chord shapes are easier to play! I never liked C minor! Hi Dean, Let's say my guitar went to a better home (as I suspect you know!). Cheers all, Roger

(and I did tune my guitar lol).. Anyone else keen to try it out? Ohh and where is this better home for your guitar?? I have my guesses...

Hi people
When you place the capo at the third fret, all you have to do is play the E minor finger position, the A minor shape and the B7 shape.
Also, make the strumming quite percussive: in time with the beat of the song. I hope this helps.
Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the clarification, in your first post I thought you were meaning the "chord shapes" there. But yes this is the correct chord progression.
Thanks Jono

That is no problem - glad to help.
If people want, I can work out some of Hayley's songs that have a distinct guitar part. Although its probably done on the web already!
If anyone else has worked out any other of her songs, let me know!!!
Cheers
Ben
P.S When I eventually get round to working out more of her songs I'l put them on the correct album board

Hi Ben,
I think that's a great idea! We should start a new thread about it, if the moderators agree, I'm not sure about the legalities/ copyrights or whatever, but I don't think it would be an issue if it is one of us members coming up with the music ourselves? I don't know, maybe a moderator can clarify? It would be awesome if piano was that easy to share, cause I also enjoy playing a bit of that...but it isn't, and sharing sheet music is definitely breaking copyright laws!
Cheers Jono

Jono
Yeah that sounds like a plan! I have only been a member for about 2 days so I'm learning my way round the forum still.
If the moderators agree, then is it possible you could start the thread up? I am still amateur!
Cheers
Ben
P.S I wont be able to have a serious go at working out any songs for the next 2 days as I have got a clarinet exam coming up! AAAHH!!

Ben,
Yeah I'll set the thread up if we get the all-clear! (either that or a Mod might do it for us)
Moderators LOOK HERE PLEASE. (And we are sorry about the off topic posts.)
Jono
Edit: In hindsight maybe I should have put this in "The Chat Thread"...

Jono,
Thanks - should we post a personal message on one of the moderators profiles'?

Hi Ben and Jono,
Members are more than welcometo start a new thread (about any reasonable topic) at any time and it does not need the approval of a moderator. Certainly the moderators are not expected to start them for you.
With regard to any possible copyright issues, we certainly could not publish any musical notation - not even the melody line and certainly not the full score. But I don't think anyone would complain about listing the chord shapes. They are probably online somewhere but I wouldn't guarantee their acuracy!
Hope that helps, Roger
