Hi fellow HWI nuts,
I know I'm a guy and can possibly be quite ignorant about these things, but why is it that Hayley's hair seems to be a different colour every time I run across a picture of her?!
Sometimes it looks dark brown, other times lighter, and yet others a mixture of light brown to darkish blonde!
Is it just me or is someone manipulating her photographs? Or does she one of those persons whose hair changes colour depending on the angle of the sunlight impinging on her hair?
I wouldn't otherwise ask this question (I mean is hair colour that important really?), but scientifically I'd love to figure out what is going on!
TIA, Peter T.

I make predictions. Some of them come right. (I'm kidding myself aren't I?)
I have seen Hayley with jet black hair - Why I don't understand.

Hi Peter and Jon, I certainly do not have any answers...I always thought it was some sort of "girl thing." haha. I have spent a good majority of my 21 years trying to figure the female kind out. I have finally reach the conclusion that the best thing to do is just to "smile and nod." I will try to redeem myself here (though probably fruitlessly): I do think that Hayley makes any hair style or hair color look really, really good!! Cheers, and good luck with the answer, Eric

I don't intend to get into deep discussions about girls and their hair - perhaps some of our HWI 'girls' could explain it all to us poor 'boys' I do have an idea though, Jon, about Hayley's jet black hair. Her hair is black on several of the Japanese mini albums. Black is the natural hair colour for Japanese people so, either she had her hair dyed or the pictures were 'manipulated' for the Japanese market. Knowing Hayley, I would guess the former. Best wishes Grant

That is very interesting, Grant about why Hayley's hair went black, to 'tie-in' with Japanese preferences/expectations. I believe there was some controversy about this when it was done for Pure but that was for international release, not just the Japanese market. As a 'phase' (for what ever motivation--perhaps she thought she'd 'give it a whirl' because she had a whim?) I find it interesting but I don't think I would like to see it black now.
For the same reason you reckon she would have dyed her hair rather than having her photographs retouched, I don't think she would have done it to 'please' a market's expectations. She would view that as dishonest. However, in her early years as a novice she might have found herself talked into it without fully taking on board the wider inferences.

On the cover of my copy of "Celtic Treasure" Hayley's hair is unmistakably red. This is the same shade of red as the girl on the cover of the original Celtic Woman CD.
Just as black hair clicks with the Asian market, red hair endears her to the Celtic-music-loving world.

I'm sure for Pure it was digitally enhanced, on Odyssey everything is darker so therefore her hair looks darker, for Celtic Treasure the lighting, and the dress are all attributes to her hair looking red.
I recently saw Hayley and it's more of her "natural" color..like when she was younger on her HW and MGTY CD's. But in the photos from the Japanese photoshoot, which Stephany just posted, her hair is unmistakably blonde- which she had highlighted it.
Does this help? <3 Caite

I guess she was trying to confuse us even then i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifbest, Peter

The changing of hair color per se is probably not as big a deal among women today as it might have been even ten years ago. There are now wash-out dyes, and also hair extensions which if professionally done look completely real. Hair color today can be changed almost as easily as switching to a different purse, and in the past few years I have seen women actually wear a different color for no other reason than that they apparantly think it matches the rest of their ensemble. Given this, I personally see no reason to believe that Hayley would find anything particularly "dishonest" about altering her hair for the purposes of any photo-op in general. It may be nothing more than a reflection of the world she grew up in. Jon

Has she ever worn her hair up? I've only seen it down or pulled back but never up.
Also, wouldn't she look cute in a much shorter style? It's something to consider. A serious makeover would do her image a world of good now that she's no longer in her teens.

Absolutely Graeme!!
Now is NOT the time for a serious makeover. Even though she is not now a teenager she is still young and her hair is part of the overall 'Hayley Thing'.
She has already made sacrifices with her hair - when she was 14 she could sit on it!! OK that's not practical for now, agreed but any changes to her appearance should not be considered for a good few years yet.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Everyone, I couldn't agree with you more Grant, you are right on the button It is FAR TO EARLY for any appearance changes yet as far as Hayley's hair style goes. But, I think Hayley knows that herself cheers, Rodders
