Hi Peter
My reference to a "serious makeover" was in reference to changes to her personal appearance in the short term, not to promotional changes.
Graeme and I were both very quick to 'jump on' Steve for his comment, although I've just watched the AOL videos from 2003 and notice a considerable difference between then and now.
Similarly, between Hayley's appearance with Russell Watson when she was 14 and the AOL videos, there were some major changes and, as I've already said in that thread, I've always loved her irrespective of the changes.
When the time is right to change, Hayley will know it and react to it. Knowing Hayley she will get it right and we'll all go "Oh, doesn't she look just the most beautiful .........." and life will go on, new look and all!
Best wishes Grant

I for one would like to see Hayley with short hair! I know I had long hair for years and when I finally cut it a few months ago, it felt AMAZING. lol. Not to mention its less work! Whatever Hayley wants to do with her hair is cool though. I wouldn't read so much into it you guys!! I mean she dyes her hair and cuts it just like anyone else and there's nothing "dishonest" about it. She's just a woman!

Hi Classicgrace
I understand what you mean.
In my teens, I had a girlfriend with long hair and she was determined to have it cut! I pleaded and pleaded for her not to do it and she didn't ..... for a while. Then one day, I went round to see her and she wouldn't let me in!!
The long hair was gone, replaced by a short, neat, almost boyish cut and do you know what? I loved it!!
I guess when we like something we don't want it to change and that's the way it is with Hayley at the moment BUT she will change; it's inevitable, and we will accept it.
Best wishes Grant

No Steve, not those beautiful locks simply cropped off. Hayley, don't even consider it ....look away please. What If she wasn't able to sing with short hair ?? Then What? Graeme Point taken, Graeme, and you may be completely right. But it worries me too. I'm astonished that any of Hayley's fans would deny her the option of short hair based on their preferences for her appearance. I know you have her best interests at heart, but this should be her choice and it really shouldn't be influenced by what her adoring public will tolerate. My suggestion for a makeover is actually overdue, IMHO. She's still working from the same basic image as when she was 14, albeit with a ton of added sophistication, and this could be getting tiresome for her on some level. Does she feel she has the freedom to experiment? Maybe not.

As I am rather "follicly challanged" myself, I would be the last person to make any sort of suggestion to Hayley about how she should wear her hair. I am just glad she has some..... Grant actually touched on the bigger issue above in my opinion. This isnt really about her hair at all. It is about the human resistance to change - especially when we are comfortable with things the way they are. As long as we remind ourselves that she is 20, and we probably seem to average about 86 to her, everybody will be just fine Jon

Hey guys, You never know what can cross a girl's mind. Oh BOY, this is the truest adage I've run across on this forum Perhaps Hayley can do the hair change in a sneaky way - real real real slowly over time so that us HWI forum folks* don't notice it. If we HWI folks don't notice it then no one else should . Peter T. * Well perhaps Stephany will because she can compare the videos over time or something

I know matter/forces (ie fermions, bosons, and virtual boson/fermion interactions) are always in flux... but I don't know if its true about humans on the inside... I still feel about 29 on the inside and I don't get the feeling thats going to change despite how things are on the outside I do know like the other guy that my hair count is likely decreasing though

* Well perhaps Stephany will because she can compare the videos over time or something Hi Peter, We can easily make comparisons by putting Hayley's pictures month by month. Here is a quick example : November 2003 (London, UK) British Academy Children's Film And Television Awards December 2003 (London, UK) A Benefit for Sargent Cancer Care January 2004 (New York City, USA) Celebrating her First International CD release of 'Pure' Look at her hair - it has changed a lot during a short period of time!

Another "hair-comparison" : April 2004 (Fontana, USA) NASCAR - Nextel Cup Series May 2004 (London, UK) 2004 Classical BRIT Awards June 2004 (West Hollywood, USA) ASYM'S 12th Annual Spring Benefit Concert and Awards July 2004 (Westwood, USA) "Night at the Net" at the 78th Annual Mercedes-Benz Cup Benefiting MUSICARES Foundation

If you compare the "May 2005" pictures, you can see that her hair is lighter in one picture. April 2005 (London, UK) 18th Birthday Party May 2005 (London, UK) Top Of The Pops Magazine 10th Anniversary Party & Classical Brit Awards 2005 June 2005 (London, UK) 30th Anniversary for Nordoff Robbins

If you're wondering, yes, I am having a lot of fun doing this August 2005 (Tokyo, JAPAN) "Odyssey" signing September 2005 (London, UK) In-Store Performance at HMV October 2005 (London, UK) "Diana, Princess of Wales" Reception

Hi Stephany, Do you think she reverts to little girl when she visits NZ? Like this one of only 2 weeks or so back. graeme Hi Graeme. Don't know about "little girl" but maybe there's something in the fact that her hair always seems to go back to straight and more natural. Almost as those she's shedding her 'stage presence' for a little while, and to concentrate on being "just home girl Hayley" Best wishes Grant
