Isn't it amazing Hayley sings in several languages so beautifully? There must be one that you prefer over all the others. Vote for your favourite!

I can't choose!! But she's definitely gifted with languages. I heard she learnt French at school. Why doesn't she try one in French? Maybe THIS is the reason. EDIT : After a second thought, I voted for Maori. It's just so beautiful. And it's very...Hayley.

I would definitely choose the Maori Language. I would have not had the opportunity to hear this beautiful native tongue had it not been for Hayley. I applaud the gov't of NZ for keeping Maori culture alive and strong.
Of course, if Gaelic were one of the language choices, I'd have chosen it !

I voted Latin... there's something about it that's perfect for her voice!

Interesting that you say that Joe & Oksy & Stephany. Gaelic is related to Latin. Italian is very much related to latin. French is derived from Latin too. Hayley loves to sing in Italian for musical reasons. I would love Hayley to sing 'Romanza' in Italian to me. Therefore my vote is for Italian which logically covers the others. Does that make sense? Well it does to me Graeme

Maori gets the lead! No matter how many times I have listened to Pokarekare Ana, I still don't grow tired of it. Hayley sings it perfectly!! I hope she'll include other Maori songs in her next albums.

Really, the poll could be entitled "In which language does Hayley sing at her best other than in English? In this instance I would vote Maori with Italian a close second. Hayley's Italian is pretty good (I believe she is leaning the language) which it has to be for recording otherwise, like some artists, it can easily sound like a "just one more cornetto" advert! Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the two top faves in this poll are Maori and Italian. Their respective dictions are ideally suited for singing. Both have vowel sounds at the end of most words and that means Hayley can apply her exquisite tone longer and more frequently without running into consonants. Lots of ahh's and ohh's presented in Hayley's amazing voice always make for a beautiful song.

I have voted for Maori; again because it was Hine that introduced me to Hayley and which will probably remain one of my all time favourite Hayley songs.
I have to say, though, that I love to hear her singing in Italian and German, but my second choice would be Japanese. It is so rare to hear anyone singing in Japanese (unless you live there of course!) and I just adore her rendition of Wiegenlied in Japanese.

I am extremely curious to hear her accent...as I lived myself in Tokyo during 3 years. It must be tough to sing in a language you don't know! Or maybe she has taken some Japanese lessons for the occasion?

Or maybe she has taken some Japanese lessons for the occasion? Hi Stephany First of all congratulations on your meteoric rise to stardom junior member!! Re the japanese track. There is a Japanese mini album called Weigenleid on which Hayley sings the same song three times - two different versions in German and one in Japanese. I read somewhere that even if she doesn't know a language, she likes to learn a little bit for an interview. In one interview she was given a Japanese delicacy to eat (seaweed, I believe) and she managed "This is delicious" in Japanese to the delight of her audience. It's little things like that that make our Hayley stand out from all the rest. Grant P.S. I've not seen Weigenlied on Ebay recently but Amazon may have it.
