Hi Drew.
Thanks for that update. May I book a buttonhole, please?
I had intended to post Friday following a response from Germany who sent an email giving me an address in London which I thought would interest Richard.
I think it was 735 or 753 either Vauxhall Bridge Road or London Bridge Road, a florist. Perhaps Richard knows most likely already. I could not find those address options on the internet, save for one in Florida!
I have resent, apologising for losing the email and asking if they would kindly resend the information.
So, hopefully that might provide a back-up which would be convenient for fresh acquisitions if they are forewarned.
Peter S.

Good idea Drew. I had said in my acknoweldgement of his reply that i would try to keep him up-to-date with developments, so, as you have done trhat i will let things be. It will be nice him receiving a response from someone else and realising how much the Hayley name should do for his trade--and UNICEF. Peter

WOW! AND DOUBLE WOW!! What a response to this newly named rose... HWI's coverage now runs to TWO whole pages - including pictures - thanks to Drew, et.al. Methinks the UK is going to smell LOVERLY next spring! Enjoy the site! I do - despite the darned hard work that needs must go into it. ttfn. Simon

I don't know Vauxhall Bridge Road intimately, but there's a much better chance of finding a florist there than in London Bridge Road, which doesn't exist. Well, certainly not in London! Best Wishes, Richard

Tantau whatsit have kindly resent their originl reply and obviously my memory was totally out of kilter, although I had only read it once before in tending to paste in a post, sorry Richard!
It is London Bridge Road BUT:
EUROSA
75 London Bridge Road
Woodley, REading
GB-Berks. RG5 4AR
Tel./Fax +44-11 89 44 01 91

He will be pleased to give you the information where to buy plants resp. flowers of Hayley Westenra / Rachel / Augusta Luise.
With best regards, But I don't think it is really relevant now! Peter S.

Hello again Peter! That address is still wrong! I used to have relatives living in Reading, so I know the area fairly well. Investigation on Google confirms my suspicions that the correct address is:- EUROSA, 75 Loddon Bridge Road, Woodley, Reading, Berkshire, RG5 4AR. The evidence is HERE. The error may well be on the email you received, because searching on Eurosa London Bridge Road produces one result! Best Wishes from Loddon, I mean London! Richard

Hi everyone! The Hayley Westenra rose is just lovely -- the colours and shape of the petals are so beautiful! What a great flower to represent our favourite singer! Simon and everyone who researched, thanks for all the information available on the 2-page feature! Oksy

Thank you for your trouble Richard and my, you do get about too, don't you?
The fault is ENTIRELY mine! Their email gave me Loddon and it was I who assumed there was a typing error!
Thank you and sorry for the hassle! Thats twice today I've tried to be helpful and ended up being much less so!
Peter

You may have heard of the "Last Rose of Summer", but I think that this is the "First Rose of Summer". Five inches in diameter, fully open, pictured yesterday: Hopefully there will be enough for a bouquet on 1st June.

Hi Drew, Many thanks for sharing your "Hayley Westenra Rose" photograph with us... WOW How beautiful! I'm sure the scent must be absolutely divine! As soon as I saw the picture, the following lyrics ran through my mind: "Where love is planted O there it grows It grows and blossoms like a rose It has a sweet and pleasant smell No flower on Earth can it excel" ('The Water is Wide')May the "Hayley Westenra Rose" bloom and flourish... Peter,
hopefully examples will be available for sniffing on 01/06, 29/06 and 28/07, unless any other growers contribute in between.

Peter, hopefully examples will be available for sniffing on 01/06, 29/06 and 28/07, unless any other growers contribute in between. Regretfully domestic matters have diverted me from carrying out my early intentions--planting several bushes outside my front door in a sequence so that I would have them flowering throught the summer (if that is at all possible). The intention remains as soon as the ability reappears. Peter S

Roger, as requested, here is the link to your local rosegrower: www.apuldramroses.co.uk/Head south beyond Chichester. Or order on web. Remember to ask for "Rachel". www.apuldramroses.co.uk/5/Hybrid-Tea-Roses.htm (scroll down to the bottom) Remember to post a contribution to unicef.org.nz (No doubt there are other stockists of Rachel/Tangust. I am sure that they are welcome to mention their wares on this site, subject to donations being given to Unicef.) For every rose purchased the sum of $4.00 will be sent to UNICEF NZ to buy bikes for girls in Ghana so they can get to school, as the distance between home and school discourages attendance.
