I seem to recall years ago, the back of a record sleeve would often say something like: "Also by the same artist" and pictures of other album covers would then be shown. Anyone else remember that? It's an excellent suggestion, Roger. When I am in a music store, I always look forward to other CDs from singers I liked; and a banner like that would probably help a lot.

Hi Folks The INNER SLEEVE was the one CBS had . you'll find it in your Simon & Garfunkel and Barbara Streisand albums. They were a great reference for the Sleeve covers of other albums. Ohh for a 12" vinyl version of Treasure, I'd buy it just for the pictures...................... I noticed a SLIP inside the Celtic Woman CD a new Journey, advertising the cds for the individual members of CW except Hayley who is not on the MANHATTAN label. At least Hayley gets a picture and a name check on the back of the cd and the card outer sleeve on the DeLuxe edition of A New Journey and on the DVD. comet

Roger, I can confirm (at least from my one trip to see CW) that Hayley only has one CD displayed ("Celtic Treasure") at the merchandising table. I asked if they had any other CD's available, and they replied that they did not, because it would not be fair to the other ladies. Because of this and my recent experience learning of Ms. Hayley and her other CD's, I would think that having some sort of "retro-marketing" tool (i.e. sleeve) in each new CD would help identify her previous CD's. And come to think of it, I DID learn of Hayley through searching of "similar artists", so a sleeve in similar artists' cases would be a wonderful idea, as well. I'm from the States, and we like to have things spelled out to us! How expensive do you think it would be to advertise this way (like say, in a Katherine Jenkins CD for example)? Eric

Actually, I found an advertisement in my 'Treasure' when I opened it. It was an advertisement of Katherine Jenkins. I didn't buy KJ's CD, but I think if I opened one, I will find an advertisement of Hayley there. I think it is a common practice to promote other singers of the same record company this way in HK. I also remember that when I opened my 'Odyssey', there was an advertisement for 'Live in New Zealand' DVD, there is a little bit different, but it is also a good way to promote. As for a list which shows Hayley's other albums, it is a common practice in Japan, the lyrics book of the Japanese version of Treasure has it, I think it is a good idea. If I am a new fan, I know what are the names of the other albums that I am looking for. Raymond

If you buy a Celtic Woman CD, or any of the girls' individual albums, a small promotional flier is inserted. They are only 4 x 3.2 inches (10 x 8 cm) and printed on both sides as follows: If something like that had been included in Treasure showing basic details of 'Hayley Westenra', 'My Gift To You', 'Pure', 'Odyssey', and the DVD, it might have increased sales of the earlier albums. I don't know what the cost might be but I imagine relatively little (compared with other promotional campaigns) and, surely, worthwhile. Roger

I noticed this flyer as well in my CW collector CD. I was bummed to see that they were promoting the other girls' CDs and not Hayley's. Anyway, you're absolutely right Roger, it would be a highly effective way to promote her earlier work - without inducing too much cost.

My flyer (Celtic Treasure only) was a straight forward black and white one referrring to universal classics generally and quoting the URL for the main site '/US'. Good suggestion though, Roger. Perhaps one of those 'obvious' thoughts that no one had thought of until someone did it and now everyone is jumping ont the band wagon. It is of course NOT TOO LATE for subsequent purchases but more particularly, no harm in making sure it is planned in for CD 4! Peter S.

Heh, the flyer in my A New Journey was an advert for Vonage.

Heh, the flyer in my A New Journey was an advert for Vonage. Don't you hate it when that happens?! Typical American advertising.... wait a minute, there's no correlation between the advertised product found within the purchased product....Exactly! I still think that "I'm in love with Hayley" t-shirts ought to be mass produced here in the States. In all seriousness though, I really think that little inserts like that need to be in every CD, and I'm not sure why I didn't find anything like that in my "Celtic Treasure" CD (unless I overlooked). Then again, I purchased my CD at the retail giant Wal-Mart and they are brutal to suppliers in eliminating any unnecessary costs. Although I would see no reason to believe that this would hinder Decca from inserting a promo sheet. Is there a reason for this difference in some promotional inserts in one country and none in another one? (or is it just my geographic location?) -Eric

Just a flabbergasted country boy, Eric P.S. I hope with this brief break from CW, that Ms. Hayley is able to promote her new stuff around the UK more effectively, though I wish her some time to relax and recuperate as well. Keep us posted, UK fans.

As far as I know, she has nothing planned until she returns to New Zealand at the end of the month. So she'll probably take the time (or at least *should* take the time) to rest & relax.

Hi Stephany,
From my conversation with Hayley on Monday, she said she was working on West Side Story this week then she flies to Japan at the weekend, before going to New Zealand for a few days at the end of the month, then it's back to the CW tour.
It does not look like much of a rest to me!

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the update ! Hayley always proves me wrong when it comes to resting. Oh well, I guess she loves being busy.
Best wishes,
Stephany

It is arguably more accurate but to the point, easier for Hayley to find acceptable. Peter S.
