Very sorry to hear about your PC and broadband problems, Grant. I am afraid i could probably reduce my costs but at the moment I haven't the time to do comparisons and i don't have time for 'things to go wrong', so I stay, probably over-charged but at least its working.
ironically, i have had several problems with a very simple device called a 'telephone'. Apparently it was caused by corroded contacts which is obviously an intermitten fault and so difficult to trace. Ioronically, it never affected the broadband facility.
Wishing you well for the future. Peter S.

Hello Jon and Roger! It sounds like a good idea, but sadly I can't change things on the computers in the Internet Café. Every time I log off, the computer reboots and returns to its default settings, over which I have no control! Richard

Hi Richard From reading your many interesting posts since I became a member of HWI I get the impression that you are a well seasoned and knowledgeable traveler, particularly around the streets of London. So I was wondering that as a low cost but effective way of promoting HWI if you would be prepared to carry a Sandwich Board! Best wishes Martin

Hello Martin! That sounds like a good idea. Perhaps I could give out a free signed photo of Hayley with every sandwich! Richard

A while ago when Hayley's Special Edition of 'Odyssey' came out, it was advertised during the add break for 'Coronation Street' at least once and also the add break for 'Heartbeat'. They are two of my fave programmes and get very high viewing figures, so a lot of people would of been watching. It was a brilliant idea. I hope they do it again for 'Treasure'!

Hi Jon,
I agree that screening advertisements during the most popular television programmes is likely to result in large numbers of viewers being tempted to buy the product. It also needs to be borne in mind that screening advertisements during prime time is spectacularly expensive. This is at least 15 years out of date but I once heard that it cost £3,500 EVERY time the ad was shown (during something like Coronation Street), in addition to the cost of making the ad in the first place. It is likely to be even more now. When you multiply that up by the amount of times it is shown during any given week, you quickly reach a massive sum. Of course, it is initially funded by the company who are promoting their product but every penny of it (in this case) is ultimately paid by Hayley out of her share of the royalties.
Clearly, the record company has to be totally confident that the additional sales are sufficient to outweight that expense. And so we are left with a fine balancing act based on one constantly unknown factor, namely, how many additional CDs will be sold as a result? I'm just thankful that I don't have to make the decision!
Roger

Hi Folks, Send OR email requests to local and small radio stations, they tend to be more obliging than larger stations. Even if the don't have a disc available it may encourage them to get some. Hayley's best promotion is simply to hear her voice. MANY WILL NEVER FORGET THE FIRST TIME THEY HEARD HAYLEY'S VOICE. I certainly won't. comet

I believe there are several Hayley ringtones currently available although I generally find most ringtones annoying. Having said that, perhaps one way of promoting Hayley would be for all HWI members to adopt one and then we can all call each other in very public places!. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif The uninformed would then come up to you and ask who owns that beautiful voice. Get your local supermarket to play Hayley over the tannoy.
People listen to the music playing. I always notice people whistling to it.

Many stores here in the states have their own "radio network"; popular songs are played followed by whatever is on sale etc. Borders always make known what is playing on their loudspeaker...one simply looks at the sales counter where the CD is on display. Hi Joe.
The Morrisons where I live seems to play the music I like, so with any luck they'll be playing Hayley soon.

Hello Jon! Tell Morrisons, if they don't play Hayley's 'Treasure', you'll withdraw your custom! That's the way to do it! Richard
