Just confirming what Martin D said, that private messages can neither be edited nor recalled once set.

You can edit FB posts, too, without deleting them.

Every so often, when I'm navigating through the forum, I get a message pop up asking me of if I want to Leave Page or Stay on Page. For example, sometimes when I hit the Reply button after typingin in the Quick Reply box, it asks me that. Yes, I'm trying to post my reply, so of course I want to leave the page. I was in the Twitter thread, specifically. Then, after I posted it, I clicked on the Misc. button at the top, and it asked me the same thing! But it didn't do it anywhere else. It's done this once or twice before, but I don't remember which threads it was then. The only other time I've seen that message is when I'm on FB, and I've started to make a reply somewhere, and then get distracted and try to go leave the page, and then it asks me if I'm sure I want to leave the page or not. That actually makes sense, but this doesn't. It's very annoying.

Hi, That pop up, "do I want to leave the page", occurred with me, too, yesterday, with the forum, quite a number of times, but I haven't experienced it at all today. BobS

Hi Libby and Bob! Apologies for the "Leave or Stay on Page" popup you both have been experiencing. I will research this and, if it seems ongoing for you, Libby, have a ProBoards admin look into it. Sorry for the difficulty

Hi Libby and Bob! Apologies for the "Leave or Stay on Page" popup you both have been experiencing. I will research this and, if it seems ongoing for you, Libby, have a ProBoards admin look into it. Sorry for the difficulty That popup occurs if you have been on the RTE Lyric Fm Replay page. It is just to warn you that your sound source will be disconnected if you leave the page. Probably also occurs on other forms of play back, if you have played a bit of something and then paused it.

Strange is this. I've never seen it on the forum, it's mainly when I am uploading videos to Youtube and then, it's a useful reminder to stop me accidentally cancelling an upload by changing the page. Occasionally happens on other websites though e.g. when filling in online forms, which is good.
I can't see that it's very useful apart from the above, as if you accidentally leave a page you just have to hit the back button to return to it and nothing is lost. It happens on the Lyric FM website... which is poor webpage design IMO. My browser is Firefox.
EDIT
Aha! It now occurs for me when I click any of the Main Menu buttons on this very forum, which would change the page, but only if I have visited our Twitter thread recently. I have never seen that before on here. It does not occur on links that open in a new tab (because you aren't leaving the original page). So yes there is an issue, something to do with stuff we post in that thread (or someone's signature) but I haven't time to further investigate at the moment. Hopefully Joe will get an answer.
Cheers, Dave

Hi all, i have not seen the 'leave or stay' popup at all. Is Firefox the browser that is seeing this issue? Hi Joe, It occurs in my Firefox 37.0.1 browser only when I visit page 337 (the current final page) of the Twitter account. If I then navigate directly from there to another page in the twitter thread, it happens again when next I try to leave that thread (e.g. by clicking a main menu button). But if I navigate to some other thread, the pop up does not reappear... until I next visit page 337 of the twitter thread. Summat's definitely up on that page! Is anyone else finding this behaviour? I should add that it makes no difference whether I am logged in or out, or whether pop-ups are blocked in Kaspersky, or if Adblock plus is on or off (I normally have it off on Proboards). EDIT I have just tried it in IE 11 and the behaviour is the same as in Firefox BUT there is some additional information: Which should probably mean something to me... but hopefully it does to someone, anyway! Cheers, Dave

Which should probably mean something to me... but hopefully it does to someone, anyway! Cheers, Dave I have seen this message a number of times recently, on this and other proboards forums. It seems to be only on threads which contain a number of posts from Instagram. I think it is due to the recently introduced functionality which shows the whole Instagram picture when pasting the link into a post. It often takes quite a while to open all the photos on the page and I assumed this "error" came up when I left the page before all the link processes had completed. BTW, I use the Google Chrome browser.

Hello folks! I think I've found the problem on page 337 of the Twitter thread and fixed it. The Instagram wasn't showing in Martin D's post HERE, so I deleted the link and reposted it. The problem seems to have disappeared now, but if it happens again, please let me know which page you were looking at. I didn't copy the offending link before I reposted it, so I don't know exactly what was wrong. Richard
