Hi all, I am seeing issues with the info center, with the "last post" updated not being correct. There was even a supposed reply from an unpostable guest in the Rebecca Nelson thread! I have let ProBoards forum admins know of this issue. Thank you for your patience -- Joe

Hello Joe! I saw a "new" notification that you'd posted in the Rebecca Nelson thread, and I couldn't get rid of it. Eventually I cleared it by making a test post and then deleting it, but the Index page says there are four replies when there are only three. I also found that clicking on "2 hours ago" on the Index page took me to your post on the Staff board, so I think the wires are crossed at ProBoards. Richard

I don't think this has anything to do with the forum itself, but this is the site I encounter the problem the most. Nobody's signature shows up for me, nearly every time I visit now, including mine. I was hoping to have a new signature soon, but if I can't even see it, what's the point? The funny thing is, I can see everyone's avatar, including mine! What's the difference? Occasionally some photos posted in the forum have been invisible to me too, but mostly it's the signatures. Usually what I see is a dotted outline of it (mine, anyway) with an image of a piece of paper that's been torn in half, in the corner.
I have that same problem today on the official forum, too. It's only on forums where I have this problem, and always just with signatures. I never have problems seeing images anywhere else that I can remember.
So, can anyone help me figure out why this is, and how to make it stop? Sometimes if I refresh the page, it appears. Just now I tried it here, and it worked, but I tried it on the other fourm, and it didn't work.

Well, the one on the other forum isn't in photobucket. It was one I designed at bannermaker.com, so the url that I have in there isn't from photobucket. So, if it's photobucket, then it's bannermaker, too. I made that one quite a long time ago, possibly 5 years or more. Probably more. Today, this forum is working mostly fine for me, as far as that goes. It's also pictures people post, too. There have been times when I've seen pictures posted, and then the next time I look, I can't see it. The example I remmber quite well was one of Lucy Kay. One day, I saw it, one day I didn't. And that time, all I saw was blank space, no icons in its place. Oh, and yesterday I re-posted Hayley's market day photo because I did not see it in someone else's post, as I just saw today. So that's why I posted it as if nobody else had, because I honestly had no evidence to suggest otherwise! Another thing is embedded videos that occasionally doesn't show up. And that's all just over here. Anyway, as you can see, Taylor has just made me a new outstanding signature! I'll be keeping this one for a looonngg time!

Libby, do you know what speed your link is? I mean what speed it really is, not what is claimed. It seems likely that something somewhere is too slow, so downloading images sometimes fails to happen, as the software gives up. How are you with streaming video, which is even more demanding? There are apps and websites around that will measure the speed of your link Google for them, since they probably aren't always the same ones we would use here). And since you are no doubt sharing bandwidth with others, what is available will vary from time to time. I quite often see effects like that in my office at work, where I'm sharing a link with many others. Refresh the page, and there is a chance it will sort itself out.

Hmm, I don't know much about what you're talking about. Videos actually play just fine for the most part; no issues lately. However, the image of the embedded videos here sometimes don't show up. But as you say, refreshing works... most of the time. It does not work on the other forum, though. I wonder about the ads that are going constantly while I'm there though. I have to say it's kind of sad not to see my signature there anymore.

Yes, its true that ads, especially those with moving pictures, can seriously mess things up on a slow link. There are some sites I just can't get to work in the office because of just that problem. It is a serous annoyance.

I may have slow internet speed, but I don't feel the need to test it unless there's some way to fix it or something. Is there? What, get a new computer? LOL

I was thinking of changing my signature there, but I thought well, if I'm not going to see it, what's the point? But I guess I'll try. Or maybe I could even figure out a way to re-do my old one, using photobucket. Another problem I've had there is that I have trouble changing my avatar, but I think that's a forum problem. The last time I changed it, it seemed like a miracle. I've tried to change it since, because it's blurry, but it won't work. Anyway, they have to be so tiny that it's hard to get it right. Oh well, I'll try the signature first. Okay, another problem I'm still having is navigating from this forum to another site. I usually go to the official forum next, but often times it will say Server not found. If I click Home, and then try it again, it works. I've tried other sites, like the Josh forum, and that's had problems too. But I only get this problem when going from here, never from anywhere else.

Hi Libby, The blurry result you experienced in the past may be from a multiple of causes. The largest avatar size is 150 by 150 pixels. May I suggest ProBoard's Avatar Help Page, found here... support.proboards.com/thread/460392/ Let me know if you have a particular image you wish to use, and I can work on getting it as your avatar for you

Not only do they slow down the forum experience, some are quite flashy and a few have been known to make noise! My internet connection speed is a mere 1.2 mb/sec... and I have no issues.
