Hi everyone, I really love Josh Groban's new album. It's a bit of a change of direction for him, but it hits my musical tastes right on the head. The first time I listened to it, I was thinking, 'Oh, this is a bit different' - but after a couple of listens I was hooked. The aspect which I like the most about the album are the lyrics of the songs - they're much better written and have more depth for interpretation than lyrics on his previous albums. Another thing is that this album really doesn't have any trace of being a 'Classical Crossover' album at all. It's a straight out easy listening/pop album. I think this album was a great step for Josh. All artists need to mix things up or risk becoming stagnant. Cheers, Jillian

You mean the prelude, or the first actual song? I did get mine for Christmas. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI listened to most of it the other day. I didn't listen to the first few, because I didn't have much time, and wanted to make sure I heard the ones I really wanted to hear. My favorites are still the ones from the Itunes downloads from before the release: Higher Window, Hidden Away, and the Portuguese one, Voce Existe E Mim. I also like the French one, Italian one, and several others were pretty good, too. Some I wasn't sure about at first, but then as the songs went on, I liked how they sounded better. I did hear him sing Bells of NYC on the Rockefeller center special, and I wasn't crazy about it. It has a good tune, but I do not like the high note in the emphasis of the "bells OF New York City" part. He sounds okay singing high sometimes, but that just wasn't pleasing to me. That's partly why I skipped it when I was listening to the album. Still haven't tried Galileo yet.

Josh singing Kanye West's tweets. Really funny! (link deleted) Oh, dear. I saw this on television last night and had hoped no-one else saw it. Sorry, Nicola...some of the content is not suitable. Joe

*sigh* Okay. I didn't think it was unsuitable. It was just a joke and the one curseword was bleeped out. I found it funny. Ah well, shared it with everyone else where.

Here's my more up-to-date review:
My favorites are Higher Window, L'Ora del'Addio, Hidden Away, Straight to You, the French song, and Voce Existe Em Mim. I also like If I Walk Away, and The Bells of New York City.
As I mentioned, I wasn't sure about Bells at first, because of the way he sings "...bells OF New York City" a little too high near the end. Also, Josh tends to write songs with a lot of words all in one phrase, and sometimes it can seem sort of blithery and jumbled. But I do like it more now. I like the "oooh-oooh" parts.
Galileo's okay, although the lyrics are a little odd to me. The word "alternative" is a strange word in a song, to me.
My least favorite is Love Only Knows. I thought I liked it at first, but Josh sings way too high, that after a while I get tired of the song. I mean, I usually like his falsetto notes okay, but singing really high tenor notes like that is not the best sound for his voice.
War at Home is okay, too. I'm not entirely sure what it's about, but I like the way he sings the chorus. It's powerful, but it has a rawness to it, which is really different and unique to what he's done before.
Some of the photos in the album insert weren't my favorite photos of Josh, particularly the sweatshirt ones. I know he was trying to look more "normal" and less formal probably, but the sweatshirt didn't work for me. The rest was fine, although the shot on the first page could've been angled on his face a little better. Josh looks fine, but the photos aren't my favorite.

Check out Josh Groban's "Straight to You" 2011 World Tour Announcement, via www.joshgroban.comOnly 3 dates listed so far, but more are to come! Can't wait till Seattle is announced. I hope you get to see him, too, Jillian. Hey, and today, my Hayley thread on the Josh Groban forum got over 40 views today!! It usually only gets about 10 views a day (more or less). I don't get many replies, but I'm not complaining when I get 40 views in a day! And this is more than I ever get whenever I post something new in the thread. I've never gotten this many before, ever. It has to be due to the tour announcement. Josh said that after the announcement, the fans "crashed the site" (the official homepage). So, apparently the forum got more hits than usual, too. Do you find it funny that I seem more excited about this than the tour announcement itself? :rollin Well, no Seattle dates have been announced yet. When that happens you'll see me far more excited. But not as excited as I'll be when Hayley gets around to coming.

Josh was in Dublin Ireland last night 15th April 2011. He appeared on the Late Late Show hosted by Ryan Tubridy and sang Galileo written by Declan O Rourke, did a nice job on it too. His hair is quite short now and he wears glasses, he was interviewed by Ryan after singing, They showed a clip from his Glee appearance, and discussed how lucky he was to be in the right place at the right time to get the part on Alley McBeal and his connections with David Foster. He came across as quite charming, modest and good humoured, He is to perform at The Waterfront Hall in Belfast soon. RTE have a Player available for a 21 Days after the show has gone out.( Available until Fri 6th May 2011) You need some internet savvy to access this from any other country but Ireland. I don't know how it is done but I believe in involves remote servers and the like.

I saw it on youtube already. He's been wearing glasses for a long time; I think he might used to have worn contacts, or maybe he only wore them for reading, not sure. It's only recently he's been wearing them for shows. He was also on the Graham Norton show in the UK, with the Raven Quartet playing!! I saw the one named Rachael, I think. She was the most visible one. Apparently they were spread around the stage, so they're not all next to each other as we usually see them with Hayley. Also, they tweeted that the music was hard, and that they broke some strings, and had bleeding fingers! The things you do for Josh! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWatch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fRpubSn5Zs
