NEW ALBUM ALERT- Josh has a new album out soon called Stages. It looks like it is all covers of stage and screen songs and as Libby said not a 'real' Josh album. However, it is a really interesting tracklist, there are some obvious choices, but some I am not sure I have even heard of and I am a huge fan of musical theatre and musicals in general so it should be good I think and well worth getting. I also heard/ read somewhere that Josh is doing 2 albums this year, one of covers and one of original material, I'm not sure if this is true or not.

Here's the cover image of the new album: I'm looking forward to it although I haven't seen the track list yet. I think when he was doing the Rising Star show last year he said he was working on two albums? On Facebook (and probably Twitter?) He's said: Tune in to Good Morning America on ABC Wednesday Morning, March 11th for a special announcement from Josh.I wish this was on in the UK, -I hope it's put on YouTube sometime soon though! I'm not sure I like the idea of a duet with Kelly Clarkson for All I Ask of You....

Yes I thought that was a strange choice too. I like Kelly Clarkson's voice, but I am not sure she can pull off this song, but we shall see when the album comes out I suppose. I was thinking he could have chosen Hayley for that song, that would have been a better choice.

Hayley would absolutely have been a better choice!

I was thinking he could have chosen Hayley for that song, that would have been a better choice. Well, I read an article that was saying that Kelly was complaining that nobody wanted to collaborate with her, but I'm sure this recording was done before that... though, maybe not. But I think I saw that no more than 2 weeks ago, most likely less. I think she'll do fine. I notice the tracklist says "from" and not "of". Typo, or did they change it? Yes, Josh did say he was working on 2 albums. I'll guess the "real" album will be released next year.

I found this earlier- it's making me more excited for the album Thanks for the track listing Susie! I thought he had recorded Chess before? But I could be wrong...

I saw that too, very excited, I have already pre ordered the album. I think he recorded Anthem as part of a concert version of Chess, but I don't think it's been on any of his albums before. I love the sound of Pure Imagination, I like this song and Josh sounds really good singing it. I also like If I Loved You and can't wait to hear this one.

Thanks for sharing the tracklist and video. I received info this morning via e-mail (Friends of Josh Groban, though my membership has expired). And no, Chess is not on any of his albums. I was fully expecting Anthem to be included. I would have been disappointed if it wasn't. Bring Him Home and Empty Chairs has me excited too. I love the emotional version of BHH by Alfie Boe, as well as Empty Chairs by Mario Frangoulis. But Josh will sound amazing, too. Mario's version is only on a live CD/DVD that I ordered from Greece (via Amazon)! And I can't even play the DVD on my TV, and I knew that would be the case when I bought it, but after hearing that song, as well as Music of the Night on youtube, I didn't care. I had to have the recording of both. Actually, the upload of Empty Chairs on youtube has horrible sound quality, so that's another reason I was desperate to hear a pure version of it. Now I have it on my mp3 player. He sings these songs and others with such emotion, power, and conviction, that I just can't get enough of them. His Tosca is wonderful, too, though I think his vocals are better in the song Sometimes I Dream, which is a CC take on the song. I'm also looking forward to You'll Never Walk Alone. CW's version is certainly very stirring, but this is achieved through the effect of multiple voices and dramatic music. Josh alone will be stirring, though I'm sure he'll have good music included too. The album is out April 28th! Luckily the deluxe version is offered on Amazon & Itunes, and also will be available at Target stores. I will probably wait to buy it at Target. I didn't wait with his last album, but I will this time. Josh may be very popular, but Target is the only store (besides probably B & N) that carries his music in store. I'll only go out of my way to a B & N store if they have a Hayley album.

Never mind, Target would be the best bet, as they offer 2 exclusive songs! So, there'll be 17 songs as opposed to 15! Of course he had to include something from Sweeney Todd, which his dog Sweeney is named after! They've spelled Sweeney wrong, though, which confirms my suspicion that All I Ask FROM You is wrong, too. I've always known it to be OF not FROM. Also, take note that tracks #14 and #15 are bonus tracks on the deluxe edition. So you might as well just buy the Target version... I'm sure you could order it from the UK if you wanted to. Here's the Target tracklist: 1.Pure Imagination – Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory 2.What I Did For Love – A Chorus Line 3.Bring Him Home – Les Miserables 4.Les Temps Des Cathedrals – Notre-Dame de Paris 5.All I Ask From You (w/ Kelly Clarkson) – The Phantom of the Opera 6.Try to Remember – The Fantasticks 7.Over the Rainbow – The Wizard of Oz 8.Children Will Listen/Not While I’m Around – Into the Woods/Sweeny Todd 9.You’ll Never Walk Alone – Carousel 10.Old Devil Moon – Finian’s Rainbow 11.Finishing the Hat – Sunday in the Park with George 12.If I Loved You – Carousel (w/ Audra McDonald) 13.Anthem – Chess 14.Gold Can Turn to Sand – Kristina Fran Duvemala 15.Empty Chairs at Empty Tables – Les Miserables 16.If I Can’t Love Her – Beauty and the Beast 17.Dulcinea – Man of La Mancha

I can't wait to hear If I Loved You and Children Will Listen! If I Loved You with Audra McDonald will sound incredible. Audra has one of the best voices I've ever heard. If I Can't Love Her will undoubtedly sound amazing, too.

I love Josh singing Pure Immagination, this is definatley better than the original version, it really suites his voice and has great lyrics too and it's a really emotional song.
