Today there was a short report (RTL NEWS / Gernan TV) about Paul Potts. He was one singer at a UK casting show (Britains Got Talent) and he was singing “Nessun Dorma” (Turandot/Puccini). Please have a look at www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k08yxu57NA Regards, Lothar

I never watched Britain's got talent. But someone told me about him and what he had been through. I admire him and watched him sing on the final - he deserved to win.

I wish someone like him would win America's Got Talent, but it's highly unlikely. He's really good!

Since his victory, he has been signed up by Simon Cowell for a million pound deal, is travelling to the US this week for some television appearances and has been invited by Katherine Jenkins to take part in the Margam Park Katherine in The Park concert on July 8.
This concert has been organised by Katherine and also features Juan Diego Florez.

Thanks for the information, Gerrit. ........and very well-done to Katherine. I'm sure their voices will blend perfectly if they sing together.

---- as long as Katherine's voice won't be drowned out by Paul's. His voice sure packs a lot more power .

He is amazing. One of the "true" great singers. Hard to find many male English opera singers that sing opera well. His voice is strong and will be good. Hope he does not drown out Katherine. Great together me thinks.

Hello everyone, as mentioned here in the Woburn Abbey thread you can now listen to Paul Potts singing two songs solo, and the finale with Hayley, from a recording I made from Classic FM on Sunday. Here is the link.Paul currently has the no. 1 album in the UK main album chart (but it does not count for the classical chart). Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
I had been wondering about this. All the news indicated that Paul Potts made a smash hit that took it to the top of the pop album charts, but it never appeared on the Classical charts.
Didn't Paul say he wanted to be an opera singer?
What's happened to that ambition? Or did Mr. Simon Cowell once more decide to be too much of an influence on somebody's singing career?
This topic has also been discussed at the KJ forum, where I raised the question why Paul didn't appear in the Classical Charts.
