Hello again everybody.
This is the first post on a new page, and I can see that this thread is in danger of going off topic. I appreciate that comparisons with Hayley are inevitable, but to be fair, please remember that this thread is for discussion about Charlotte.
Many thanks,
Richard

Let me bring it back to topic, then, with the revelation that Charlotte belted one of her guests for tonight.; In all fairness to her the guy was drunk and behaving like a first-class idiot, insulting her family and her last album, but the last time I heard anyone scream at someone to [deleted], let alone hit them while doing it, was listening to a routine of the-now-mercifully-forgotten Jerky Boys, whose humor wasn't very funny, but might appeal to you if you like vandalizing other people's mailboxes.
Some say you can never go too low, so you shouldn't be afraid to test the bottom, but I think this should be the signal to the network that they need to pull the plug on this shambles before it becomes a total disaster. This show started off a snafu (situation normal, all fouled up), it's at tarfu (things are really fouled up) now, much more of this and it's going all the way to fubar (fouled up beyond all recognition).
Charlotte, I echo Portia, get your butt back in the recording studio.

That sounds familiar. Was it a setup though? I have no intention of watching the show, but I heard there where sketches and things on it. It could all be for show.

The press were very cruel with their reviews of the recording of Charlotte's edition 3 of her show. Fortunately the editors have cut out the majority of the nasty bits. If Charlotte can improve her intro song (actually try to sing) and improve a little of the language, she might be on to a winner.
It gets better.
I cannot imagine that the ratings will have improved this week but she deserves to succeed.
I can't believe that I said that but I shall certainly give her another chance next week.
Johney Vegas even looked like a friend at the close of the show so it cannot have been so bad.
Jonathan Ross take care.

Charlotte, I echo Portia, get your butt back in the recording studio. Wow fusilier23, you are really educating me this morning (it is as I type!). snafu tarfu fubar. I've just copied and pasted your post to a word document saved under the heading of those three words as a reminder of their definitions. Most interesting. Thank you. Sorry I missed the show. I was watching Rebus and my video isn't working at the moment--all to do with changing worn out equipment with new technology etc Was it a right hook or a left hook? Did she effectively flatten him. If your description of the incident is anything to go on? - 1. The studio were irresponsible in letting him get drunk in the first place and should have at least sobered him up by ramming his head down the toilet and flushing it if necessary before going on in front of the cameras.
- 2. Stopped him going on the show and asking Charlotte to sing an extra couple of songs instead.
- 3. Failing 1 and 2 which were not her fault but down to the studios he seemed to get what he asked for.
Frankly, I am somewhat surprised Charlotte was so polite as to right hook him. I'd have thought she was the sort of girl who would have aimed lower down and squeezed hard. You might well be surprised by my reaction Fusilier23 but i kinda stand up for gutsy girls who won't let themselves be pushed around least of all by a drunk. Provided circumstances were indeed as I am perceiving them to be I'm suddenly rather fond of Charlotte! No one has the right to insult in that manner and expect to get away with it. End of message. However, suppose our golden girl was in that position? What then might have happened? - 1. It would never have happened for no one would presume to meet her in that state themselves.
- 2. Her conduct is such that the contrast of the drunk's behaviour with her conduct would be such that even the studio malfuctionaries would not have allowed him on.
- 3. Allowing for studio management inadequacy, Hayley would have been aware and put her foot down, directing that he would not go on.
- 4.There would never been cause to insult her or her family and had there been such an attempt the audience would probably have lynched him or come pretty close.
- 5. It is possible Hayley's wit would have stood up to the occasion.
- 6. Failing 5 she would probably have had the presence of mind to stand up, inform the audience she was suspending the show and demanding someone remove him.
Looked at in those (I suggest) likely scenarios with Hayley, Charlotte's response does seem somewhat like a closing time street brawl. But, if it was as described, I kinda support Charlotte. She dealt with it her way and that was the best she probably could have dealt with it according to her abilities. No one should be expected to receive, let alone tolerate, insults. However, a throwing out street brawl is perhaps within Charlotte's experience, whereas our golden girl is somewhat more classy: but toffs, as the papers showed us at Ascot? during the recent World Cup matches, can be just as intolerable. A drunk's a drunk after all and a girl's a girl, but some are the 'Annie Get Your Gun' type, as good as giving out what they get and some are sheer class who can put you down with a look... unless you're drunk when you're too daft to see it... but the audience aren't! Hello everybody! Just to put the record straight, I watched the show on Friday and the reported incident was not shown. However, I will add that the language was as bad as ever, but CC wasn't the worst offender this time. Peter, you've already seen how Hayley deals with drunken behaviour at Toast NZ in Regent's Park. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

From what I read he said that her album was [censored] that he'd slept with her grandmother when they did karaoke together, and a few other "shock jock" comments. Part of this was no doubt from his chugging of three cocktails of wine and spirits that he was supposed to "test" as part of another bit on the show. And it was a slap, not a punch, I think she reserves those for ex-boyfriends who reveal graphic details to the papers. Quite frankly I'd have had him frog-marched out of there long before it got to the point it did, violence between host and guest is NOT, in my opinion, entertaining.
Eh, I have a certain amount of support for people who stand up for themselves generally, but not really in that manner, unless you are first assaulted, in that event, fight with any and all means, but punching or striking in response to an insult is something I'm not really in favor of. I've been in my share of fights, and I've both won and lost. I sustained my share of [censored] noses and swollen lips, and the odd bad sprain from being twisted in locks that went too far, I also put someone's teeth in, gave another bully a shiner three shades of blue, and at least three times introduced enemies' heads to the pavement, as banging someone's head against the concrete or asphalt proved a very effective tactic for making certain he would not rise again, and I admit, at least once I took great pride in my work, as I believed the other party had it coming. But I am now not proud of any of this, and I certainly would not dream of responding to an insult, no matter what it was, with physical violence, that just shows you can be gotten to and can't control yourself. The incidents I speak of all occurred well before I was out of high school, I'd be looking at jail time if I did something like that now.
You may be supportive of this action, Peter, and I'll be the first to say this other guy was a slug, but if I were the studio exec I'd be having some serious second thoughts. I do not want to wind up in a lawsuit if something like this goes farther than a slap, that could really be damaging, and actual violence is of dubious entertainment value. Charlotte's actions bespeak a loose cannon who lacks judgement, and no one else should have to answer for her lack of judgement.

Fire strikes church attended mostly by Vietnamese Catholics No injuries were reported Sunday morning in a fire at a southwest Charlotte Church. The fire started shortly before 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, a parish attended mostly by Vietnamese Catholics. The church is on Sandy Porter Road.
Officials said the fire was limited to a kitchen area and started before services had begun. -- Steve Lyttle

This must have been started by Johnney Vegas after he woke up from his knock-out punch!

Another award for Charlotte
Charlotte Church Top For A Night Out Tuesday, 19th September 2006, 07:58
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charlotte Church is the celebrity most Brits would like a night out on the town with.
The Welsh singer - famed for her boozy nights on the tiles - beat off strong competition from some of the UK's most dedicated party-animals to win the accolade.
Lotte, 20, who has turned her hand to hosting a chat show, won more than a fifth of the votes in a poll of 1,800 people after being pictured stumbling bleary-eyed out of countless nightspots in London and her native Cardiff.
Another celebrity currently hosting a chat show, Sharon Osbourne, was close behind and Denise van Outen was in third place, proving girls really do have more fun - together the three women polled more than half of all the votes in the poll by Yahoo!
Prince Harry was Britain's joint-fourth favourite boozer, along with Little Britain star David Walliams.
Meanwhile the WAGs - the England football squad's wives and girlfriends, including Victoria Beckham and Coleen McLoughlin - came a lowly ninth after almost drinking Baden Baden dry during the World Cup.
TOP TEN
Charlotte Church – 20% Sharon Osbourne – 19% Denise Van Outen – 12% Prince Harry – 11% David Walliams – 11% Girls Aloud – 9% Calum Best – 8% Peaches Geldof – 4% The WAGs – 4% Peter Stringfellow – 2%

i reckon a quiet night in with Hayley would be at least as exciting as those who want to be out on the town with Charlotte believe their night will be! So each to their own!

I'll bring the pastries, I know a great place. All nonsense aside, I just read that the network has gotten 174 complaints about CC's foul language on this show. Of course they've defended the fact that it's Friday night and strong language is normal, but as the complaints pile up, they can't ignore them.

Charlotte scares me. :bat:
Hayley is real. She says what she means. You can see the truth in her.
I don't trust Charlotte.
