Another Norwegian
Sissel Kyrkjebø ( or Sissel as she is promoted outside Norway ) has sung for many years now.
She started out in the early 80's and was around Hayleys age.
ON ONE OF HER FIRST ALBUMS; SHE SANG A VERSION OF " POKAREKARE ANA " i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
( I don't have that album, so I don't know what her version sounds like........................ Must try and find it )
She has also sung " Amazing Grace " and " Pie Jesu "
She was the one that was first intended for the main songs on the Titanic soundtrack. Celine Dione got the job in the end, however you can also hear Sissel on that album. Just not on the main songs.

In 1993 Sissel visited composer James Horner's home in Los Angeles to hear the song "My Heart Will Go On", which he had written especially for her. However PolyGram Records would not pay $ 2,000,000 for the options to an uncertain soundtrack-album and insisted that the more popular 'Celine Dion' perform the song. The rest is music history.

Sissel have been singing with many of the great tenors of the world, including Placido Domingo, which she will sing with later this year at a concert in Norway.
She has also sung with: Brian May, Warren G ( US Rapper ! ), and appeared on 3 of The Chieftains records .
She also sang the signature song for the Winter Olympics at Lillehammer 1994.
