Do You Sing Like An Angel?

The heavenly sound of All Angels, which spans classical, choral, opera and pop, has been an instant hit with popular and classical audiences all over the world.

Their self-titled debut album broke all previous UK records on it's release in November 2006 by becoming the fastest-selling debut album by a classical act in the history of the UK charts.

Now the girls are back in the studio putting together the finishing touches to their second album, due for release this November, and they have asked Classic FM to help them find a fifth 'Angel' to perform at a special All Angels concert to celebrate the album's release.

All Angels originally came together following an huge nationwide search of schools, choirs and music school and Melanie, Laura, Daisy and Charlotte are hoping find an angelic girl (or boy!) with outstanding singing talent and a passion for music to join them.

It doesn't matter if you're 16 or 60 years old. What we're really looking for is someone with fresh talent, unique style and something special to bring to the group.

If you think you would make the perfect Angel, download and complete the application form here and send it in along with an audio or video recording of yourself singing a classical, opera or pop song in the distinctive style of All Angels to [e-mail] by 1 October 2007.

But on second thought...I'm not a permanent resident (from as far as I can see) of the UK. Does that matter? I do happen to be a resident of the UK for now and will be here past November 28th...

I am so sorry Caite, I have just found the small print:

2.3 The Competition is open to residents of the UK and Northern Ireland only.

Whatever that means.

Also read:

1.4 After the closing date referred to in paragraph 1.3 above, five Entrants will be chosen as finalists (“the Finalists”) by a panel of judges headed by Steve Abbott, the manager of All Angels and representatives from the Participating Radio Station and Universal Music Limited (“the Judges”).

So questions should be asked on Friday (if you can find SA amongst all the Kiwis). When is a resident not a resident?

This is a new competition. I presume that the Bristol competition was just for that event.

My way of reading that is that they don't want people overseas entering .for obvious reasons.

By resident, they mean someone who has leave to remain in the UK and who is eligible to be listed on the voter's register. Unfortunately, this prevents those people who are here on temporary/work visas from applying
