Very nice only thing is to bad they do not have a sound clip of all the song's .With Dell'amore non si sa she has english lyric's added to it and I think she out shine's Andrea Bocelli but then again I never liked him and I alway's prefered female's over male's.

Fantastic, thanks Kimberly. First thoughts... there are at least two obvious singles on there, and they could get a lot of airplay! No prizes for guessing which tracks I'm thinking of Second, well done to Decca for making almost nine minutes of previews available to us, all at 64 kbps. This is very generous indeed and the quality is good (for previews). Third, I hope the UK classical additions don't spoil the balance of the album (though we haven't yet heard all the tracks of the International edition or any, for certain, of the UK one!). Fourth - it may not be the end of the World if Hayley doesn't get into the UK classical charts. A lot of Odyssey is very "Radio 2 friendly". Fifth - I think I'm going to LOVE this! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifFinally, if anyone has problems playing all the tracks at high quality and smoothly, I've made a 9 minute compilation of them all in a 64 kbps Windows Media file (4 MB). A bit of arm twisting might persuade me to make it available, if I think I can get away with it

Hallo all, sorry but I can not open the link. I reduced my security peferences but the problem is still the same. Who knows what is my mistake. Many thanks in advance for your help. Greetings, Lothar Hi Lothar, Perhaps you don't have the latest version of Macromedia Flash player installed: www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/ ? That's all I can suggest, really. The most important part of that e-card is the Odyssey audio samples page so I've uploaded my compilation of the 8 clips (9 minutes, 4MB, 64 kbps) and they are here . The tracklist showing which samples are played is hereHappy flashing but if you can't do that, enjoy the compilation Cheers, Dave. The Odyssey compilation is for private and promotional use only, and if anyone reproduces it on the Internet, please mention the HWI forum when crediting the source.

This e-card I think is very good and the pictures that they have for the wallparters are great. I wish they had sound clips for all the songs. I hope the changes they make to this cd for the Uk and USA one are just adding songs.
I like what I heard. I can not wait to see what she did to she moves trough the fair.

Hi Kimberly,
According to Hayley's manager, the arrangement of 'She Moves Through the Fair' will include Uillean pipes and an Irish whistle as well as full orchestra. The combination will be something very special, I'm sure. As for Hayley's vocal, we shall just have to wait and see. Unfirtunately, there is no guarantee that this track will appear on the UK or US versions. Fingers crossed, eh?

I've listened to all the samples, and I'd say they are pretty good. I was a bit disappointed because I don't think Hayley used as good a voice as she could have. And not very many of the songs sound very classical. Maybe I'm just still in shock of a new album. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI think my favourites so far are Both Sides Now and Quanto Qualia. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I love her classical tracks and yes, I want more of them on the UK version - but what to drop to make room for them? Personally, I'd drop the Bocelli duet first (I'm not keen on it) but I am sure that would not be politically correct and it will obviously stay. I can't get over-excited about "Both Sides Now" but it's OK, and love the rest of the samples, such as Prayer, especially Never Saw Blue, and also What You Never Know (pop songs!!!). The tempo on May it Be is too slow for my taste but hey, it's a minor niggle and I can't wait to hear the complete album - and to find out what they've done with the UK and US versions (that worries me a bit!). I have to keep reminding myself that listening to a selection of 1 minute samples can give a completely misleading impression of the final product, so I may have to stop listening to them. Roll on August! Cheers, Dave

I think a lot of the new songs are growing on me. Come to think of it, it was the same way with Pure. I think it's because I'm just not sure what to expect and then when I hear it, I'm just confused. lol, kinda weird, I know. Now I like Prayer and Dell Amore Non Si Sa, but I liked that one when I first heard it on Andrea's CD. I agree that you can't judge a whole CD by the one minute samples. They just give you clues and ideas.

Hi Cathleen,
I don't think it is at all weird that you feel confused when you don't know what to expect and then hear it for the first time. I'm pretty much like that myself. Okay chaps, I AM weird, I know!
I generally try not to have any pre-conceived ideas and listen to something new with an open mind. In Hayley's case, that is impossible.
I had such high expectations of Odyssey but, based on these clips, I now have reservations about the whole album. Her voice is as lovely as ever but do I detect the hint of an American accent here and there? The choice of material is, in my humble opinion, not in the same league as any of the songs on Pure.
I have often said that I bought Pure as a result of hearing Pokarekare Ana on the radio. With hindsight, I now believe I would have bought it immediately no matter which track I had heard. I'm sure that would not be the case with Odyssey. So far, only two tracks hold any appeal - one is already familiar (May It Be); the other is 'Never Saw Blue'. The others don't really impress me and, apart from that lovely voice, leave me cold.
I can't believe I'm saying this but it is just first impressions. However, it is often first impressions that sell albums. I hope other tracks will grow on me in time.
Okay, I'm going to say something now that I have thought for some weeks. I believe it was a mistake to include 'Both Sides Now'. It is a pleasant song but it was done to death in the sixties and Hayley's version adds nothing to the original - certainly not from what is heard in the clip, anyway. It as perfectly acceptable for it to be included during her concerts and therefore on the DVD. But it is not good enough to merit a place on a long-awaited CD as well.
Dave is right, one shouldn't be too judgmental having heard only clips and nothing would please me more than to eat my own words when the album is released but, at the moment, I think it is Pure that I will still be playing daily for many more months to come and Odyssey will be brought out only occasionally. We shall see.

Yeah, Roger, I agree with almost everything you said. I was thinking that if someone heard just one of the samples of Odyssey, they probably wouldn't go out and buy the album. I think it could be because the songs are just too easy for Hayley. It's almost like they're too easy to sing along to! I know, it sounds odd. I just think Both Sides Now is a really good song. I guess I wouldn't know that it was played too much in the sixties though. The first time I ever heard it was when Hayley sang it. It's funny, I've also noticed an American accent too in her voice. I first noticed it on The Mummers' Dance. The whole song could sound like an American! I think it's kind of funny. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

You are right about the American accent in 'Mummers Dance'. I heard it too but admitteedly only when someone else pointed it out to me. As for the e-card, the whole point of it being there is to encourage people who may not otherwise have bought Odyssey to do so. I can't see that happening in sufficient numbers. What a pity. Roger

I have listened to the promo tracks and I get a very distinct sense of Enya from them. Mind you, I like Enya's music so, that puts Odyssey very firmly at the top of my shopping list. Plus, of course, Hayley always does anything better than the originals. Well, in my opinion she does. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Keith.
