Thanks Martin! Sorry to say that I don't know this song. Hayley is singing 'Pokarekare Ana' on Classic FM right now. She was also interviewed by Katie! She said she was starting to get used to the rain or something like that. The orchestra is amazing!!! Stephany

Hi Grant. Just a passing comment (oh lord, I'm going to cross three threads)--but then of course they don't like multi-posting which is what separate posts in three threads would amount to! Except of course, not in each thread!
1. Sorry I haven't commented on your Gawsworth report. My preoccupation was completing my Llangollen report before you started posting on the next show.
2. Here I wanted the programme up as soon as possible and then see if I had anything worthwhile to add when I had read the reports of those others who had been there.
3. Ever since I returned from Wales it has been everything unexpected happening left, right and centre but... time to listen to the William Tell overture as I return to topic, thread and location--'Woburn Live' with Vittorio Grigolo, Julian Lloyd Webber and HAYLEY WESTENRA.. I wonder how long it took them to do the edting--probably very quickly. I am already aware of the amount of dead time they have exorcised and in fact brought it so tight it almost overlaps occasionally.
Couple of wobbles too, the amplification system or their recording?
Are you able to listen Karsten?
So, just in passing, Grant to let you know I was not ignoring you when you have been so kind to post postively on my own endeavours. I'll read shortly, but not with music playing in my headphones! In any case I want to hear my laugh and wonder if they kept in my response to Hayley (when she WAS inviting comment, I might add!).
I recall a time as a child being in a theatre studio for one of the 'Navy Lark' shows. I discovered there was a microphone right above my head and so made a point, occasionally, of laughing straight into it--the only time I have broadcast nationally! So far!
Oh SHE'S ON! Lady you really are a dream!
Peter S.
PS: They are editing in an off-stage interview. Now a general chat. Later on West Side Story Are you chaps with the recorders recording?.

The audio recording of Woburn Live starts NOW on Classic FM. You can listen to it live HERE. Click on 'start listening' (or 'listen now' at the top of the page). Katie Derham said she had her wellies on. Good thing that I learned the word not so long ago as it seems it will be very useful in the UK Thanks for the fantastic pics, Dave. I love the look in their eyes. Vittorio is also a very romantic guy! Stephany
Well done, Stephany. I wonder if Karsten is aware and able to use that link if she can't listen in directly. Just listened to Pokarekana Ana and Lascia Ch’io Pianga (again) on Classic FM. I pose this question: HAVE YOU EVER HEARD HAYLEY SING BETTER? Martin

Hi everyone Thanks so much to Martin, Drew, Peter, Dave, Stuart (sorry if I've missed anyone - Roger, have we heard from you yet?) for your photos and reports so far. It certainly was something completely different this concert. What a lovely new dress for the occasion too Drew, did you say that you got to present Hayley with some flowers as she left the stage ? Did anyone manage to get a photo of it ? I'm just off to listen to Classic FM. Looking forward to some more photos etc. Best regards Mark

Hi Martin, This is a very good question. We have heard Hayley singing 'Pokarekare Ana' a certain number of times and I can honestly say that this is probably the most beautiful version I have ever heard. 'Laschia Chio Pianga' was DIVINE. I look forward to hearing the second part (Peter, your programme is very useful!!). Stephany

Rick of course, whilst he was wracking his brain for inspiration... Andrew Thanks Andrew!! Now does anyone have a sensible answer! Best wishes Grant YES, Grant: Nice and succinctly put: www.piecedart.com/rick_rack.htmIt is an expression I hade never heard before but may well use a lot now for it exlains what previously i could only describe as a 'patterned trimming'. Nice pictures Dave, I admire your ability to capture some of Hayley's poignant expressions. You must be looking through your viewfinder waiting for that magic moment! Considering the dismal conditions I think we "done well" without flash and using zoom without camera shake. ....just listening to the concert now... stunning music throughout and I was thinking last night how privilaged we are to be able to attend so many fantastic concerts.

WOW! I'm listening to the live broadcast right now and that's got to be one of Hayley's best concerts ever... you can tell how much Hayley's voice has matured in these new songs. She sounds stunning. Thank you to everyone who posted photos to give us a visual of the event. I particularly like those from One Hand, One Heart -- so charming! And the red dress is stunning -- how does Hayley manage to look so beautiful in just about any colour?? Thank you guys for sharing your reports and pics... what a great concert that must have been! Very unfortunately, Stuart, Hayley is not singing 'Somewhere' on this new 'West Side Story' CD. It's Connie Fisher who has this privilege. It's a shame because Hayley did a smashing version of 'Somewhere' at Woburn.

Fortunately Oksana Dave is at the controls. Precisely what controls I haven't the remotest idea. In my day it would be 10.5" reels of tape spinning at 15"per second connected (monaurally) by a BS Jack on a thing called a Vortexion which weighed a ton! [and a half--if you had a hall to cart it down to the car!]
