I'm not familiar with 'Rule Brittania' but just heard it on the recording of Classic FM.
Is this some sort of anthem?

Fortunately Oksana Dave is at the controls. Precisely what controls I haven't the remotest idea. In my day it would be 10.5" reels of tape spinning at 15"per second connected (monaurally) by a BS Jack on a thing called a Vortexion which weighed a ton! [and a half--if you had a hall to cart it down to the car!] Peter S. Hi Peter and everyone! Oh that's a shame Stephanie Very unfortunately, Stuart, Hayley is not singing 'Somewhere' on this new 'West Side Story' CD. It's Connie Fisher who has this privilege. The sequence of songs at the end of the broadcast always form the climax of the "Last Night at the Proms" - the last concert in the series of Proms which run through the summer. Hayley has sung this before at Wisley in 2006, another outdoor concert. Stuart |

Hi Peter, thanks for your thoughts... - well, there was no direct way to listen and - due to Stephany's advice - I've just begun hearing the concert as my connection broke down - and came back just now after 7 p.m. UK time. Loved the photos of Hayley in the red dress,well worth waiting for.
We may joke about methods of recording but I still have a Fidelity tape recorder from 1968 in full working order,only takes 7 inch reels though.

Hi Thanks to everybody who has posted their photos and reports. It sounds like it was a wonderful event, in spite of the rain. I hope the success of the West Side Story CD will prompt further events with Hayley & Vittorio. Hi Drew .
