Hi Robert and a very warm welcome to the forum from me!!I must have logged off a few minutes before you logged on last night. My only excuse being that I was up until 3.30am reviewing a concert!! I see you (and Vicky and Andy) have already been heartily welcomed and I'm delighted that you've completed my hat trick (not that I get any commision or anything! I did have to wait quite a long time to see Hayley and was also concerned about my car, especially seeing the groundsman return with his tractor! My car was the only one in the car park when I left, come to think of it, I was the only one left in Gawsworth Hall!! Anyway, it's great to hear from you, you will have a great time here. I look forward to your future posts and meeting you again at a future concert. Very best wishes Grant

Hi all What a fantastic welcome – thank you Grant, Marianne, Joe, Stephany, Richard and Mark!!!!! Grant – We’re glad that we didn’t know Hayley was back in the stand, it certainly would not have felt right to approach her whilst she was checking up on the lady. There will be another time, we’re sure of that. How did you manage to drive home, late at night and then compose your report in the early hours – top marks! Glad you got your car out, it did look quite lonely on the car park as we left. Mark – it must have been a nice moment for Sophie to meet Hayley, what a lovely picture of them both together, a nice keepsake. Thanks very much for the advice about taking our daughter to a smaller venue, probably a very good idea. We’ve certainly ear-marked Gawsworth next year (if Hayley comes back that is) but will keep our eyes open for an earlier concert. It’s funny but although our daughter (Beth) is a typical 6 year old in that she likes pop music etc, she always wants us to put Hayley on when we’re in the car!! We think she’s hooked! We’re both still on a high after Sunday. We had a lovely day, in a beautiful setting, the highlight being a wonderful performance from Hayley. What a voice! Roll on the next time. Thank you all once again for the kind words, we look forward to being in contact with you in the future. Best wishes Vicki & Andy

How did you manage to drive home, late at night and then compose your report in the early hours – top marks! Hello again! Told you you'd be happy here. Re your comment above. Actually the two things are one if you see what I mean. I'm actually composing my report in my head as the day goes on, noting little things of importance and the little things Hayley says during the concert. The drive home seems to bring it all together; and if I stay overnight, then it's the train ride home that I use to compose, but I never write anything down until I turn the computer on! Funnily enough, I've just remembered something from Sunday's concert that I should have included! Do you remember, right at the very beginning, just as the music struck up for "Ave Maria" a very noisy crow squarked as it flew over and Hayley giggled and said "gosh" we are out in the country here!" then went straight into the song!! Just rememered that! Best wishes Grant

Grant, Thanks for your brilliant review, or should I say "report" , yeah and it does seem as if the day is happening all over again, that's good especially for those of us who are very far away from there i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif How nice of Hayley to check up on the lady who felt ill. Vicki, Andy, and Robert, Welcome to the forum and thanks for adding your comments on Hayley's concert. Hope you feel right at home here Meldy

Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome. I don't think I've ever had such a warm reception from an internet forum before! I didn't managed to take many photos I'm afraid, but here's a couple. A wider view of the hall before the concert started - the weather was still a bit undecided at this point!Hayley with Ian, Micha and Fiona on stageI'm afraid I didn't get any photos of Hayley in her cream dress, which she wore for the first half of the concert - we were mistakenly instructed not to take any photos at Miss Westenra's request - she corrected this at the interval and said just no flash photography. Grant - I always thought our host was called Timothy, not Simon - or am I just getting confused in my old age? And is that the top of your head in my first photo! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest regards, Robert

Welcome Robert, Andy and Vicki, It's great to have you all "onboard" with us! Andy... you may be interested to hear that there is an "Andrew", a "Drew" and now an "Andy" on the 'HWI' Member's list! I guess that only leaves room for an "Andreas" Andrew

I'm going by the fact that one of the restaurant staff took him a drink whilst I was waiting for Hayley to arrive, and the mug was plastered with the name Simon If you mean the head in the extreme lower right hand corner, it could be, although the shadows disguise the fact that I actually have less hair on top than the picture suggests! Thank you for sharing your pictures by the way. Best wishes Grant
