What did you get in the end, Grant, or did we discuss this earlier when you actually bought it?

Hi Peter
I have a Canon Digital Rebel which is the US version of the Canon 300D DSLR. It's first outing was Canterbury Cathedral and I got some interesting shots of Hayley's sound check.
The camera belonged to a friend and I have now bought it off him. Despite being "old" technology, it takes great pictures (See my pictures of Hayley on the Telford concert thread)
I have just bought a Tamron 55-200mm zoom lens which should be perfect for this years sound check at Gawsworth Hall.
Are you planning on coming to this one again?
Best wishes Grant

At the moment, Grant, I'm concentrating on September and not following her around as I did during the last couple of years. Probably wrong decision as next year she'll be world touring (or USA) and not in the UK! Aah well! Can't win them all. Peter S.

I have been contacted by the venue who inform me that the date when Hayley appears there is 22nd July, not 31st. I have checked the email from Steve Abbott and, according to that, we have the correct date (31st). I have asked for further confirmation and will advise further in due course.

I must admit that the 22nd would make more sense being a Sunday as it was last year. It is a guaranteed sell-out and one of the attractions of Gawsworth for most is that you can picnic all afternoon prior to the evening concert. So a Tuesday is less attractive for the promoters.
However, Steve is the one that decides Hayley's schedule and it may be that Hayley is not available on 22nd July. We all look for final clarification for this highly recommended venue.

It does seem to make more sense to be on a Sunday. If it is, we are ready and equipped with our own pop-up portable gazebo this year! Maybe I will arrange to have a HWI flag flying from it which would be an open invitation to all HWI members attending to congregate for a "HWI Huddle" That's if it is on a Sunday!

Here is a reminder of Gawsworth Gazeboland 2006! There were many more erected as the afternoon progressed. George

Great news! So folks gazebos, umbrellas, picnics, cameras (although banned last year), HWI sweatshirts, and tartan ties at the ready! Early booking is vital particularly if you want a lawn place directly in front of the stage (poor old Hayley ). Martin

Hi Martin and a reminder to everyone.
Whilst lawn seating IS often first come first served (bring your own chair!) Hayley's concert last year was a sell out and the lawn seating was sold AFTER the grandstand seats. I believe, at Bedlam's request.
I fully anticipate the same this year!
It will, however, still be important to book early.
Best wishes
Grant
P.S. Photography was only banned after I took that famous shot that everyone seems to like so much! People were still taking pictures from the stands I believe.

Hi Roger I think you've read too many of Richard's posts!! Incidently, the Gawsorth website states that Hayley is appearing in arrangement with Solo. Who are they, as you would expect it to state "in arrangement with Bedlam"? Best wishes Martin

Hi Grant, Solo are the booking agents who (on this occasion) work on behalf of Bedlam. Don't worry, they are not the support act! Roger
