I bought Second Nature when it first came out and, unless your a collector,l don't see any reason to buy La Diva. I am from the USA, by the way. The bad part is that 2 of my favorite songs were left off La Diva. Why would they short change the US release when the full version is so attainable on the interner? I need a handbook on how to run a music company . DaddyTom, I quite agree with you on this! I too, live in the USA and purchased Second Nature over the Internet. I adore Katherine's "Second Nature" album, and cannot imagine why Universal/Decca would ever want to produce a version which short-changed the original by three songs! I fervently *hope* that they will NEVER pull this same "stunt" when they release future Hayley Westenra albums. Which brings me to another point... As of yet I have not purchased the album "Amore Musica" by Russell Watson. I actually wanted to buy the import from the UK, but found it to be significantly more costly than Katherine's. Now, I just recently heard that this latest album by Russell is slated to be released during the month of June, 2005 here in the US. I am waiting to see whether or not the Decca music company will be doing the same thing to "Amore Musica" that they just did to "La Diva" -- cutting songs from the US version? I truly hope NOT! I guess we'll just have to wait and see... Whatever do record companies hope to gain by doing such a thing?

Who knows, when this is on PBS in the autumn, I just might pledge money if they offer Pure DVDs !! Yeah, Joe... I feel the same way!!! I don't ordinarily pledge money to PBS, although I probably should! I certainly would pledge, just to get a DVD of Hayley's PURE concert! And speaking of Hayley concerts... does ANYONE know when we fans in the USA could ever hope to see a "full" live concert of just Hayley alone? I don't mean like Hayley's October appearances at Carnegie Hall or Trenton, NJ (where she is just one of many different performers). I mean, a real PURE TOUR, where we can hear just 60 to 90 minutes of PURE Hayley?

Hi. I agree with Richard's suggestion that the new album should be called "Hayley Westenra - From My Heart." (Actually, that is somewhat reminiscent of Sissel's second international album, which was called just simply "My Heart.") Hey, it's okay to have albums of similar names from different singers! Why not? After all, wasn't there previously another female vocalist who put out an album entitled "Pure"? (It was Lara Fabian, was it not?) HOWEVER... permit me to say that Lara's singing is nowhere near as Pure as our Hayley's is!! As for songs which should be included on the next album, my vote goes for: - Aria (Cantilena) - Both Sides Now - Con Te Partira (Time to Say Goodbye) - How Many Stars? (from Bombay Dreams) - May It Be (from Lord of the Rings) - Nessun Dorma - Flower Duet (from Lakme) -- with sister Sophie I realize that four of the above songs which I've suggested already can be found on Hayley's DVD ( Live From New Zealand), but it surely wouldn't hurt to have these tracks on CD also... so I could hear it inside my car! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Anyone else with suggestions? Yeah, I have some suggestions. One piece which has always nearly moved me to tears is Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, composed by the Brazilian conductor, Heitor Villa-Lobos. Mr. Villa-Lobos lived from 1887-1959, and composed some profoundly moving music, both orchestral and vocal. Here is a link to Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, so that you can all hear what it sounds like: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00000GCAG001001/0/102-1181283-9128105I think that Hayley could probably sing it, brilliantly. Another suggestion that I have is, the "Flower Duet" from the opera Lakme, by the French composer Delibes. This song from Lakme is absolutely GORGEOUS, and Hayley could really shine on this one! Hayley could record her voice for the two parts, on two tracks, and then blend the tracks together as a duet for her next CD! Here is the link for the "Flower Duet" from Lakme: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B000060OHV001002/0/102-1181283-9128105

Hi, Roger! (waves to Roger... from across The Pond) Yes, I know where you are... many, many miles from me! I'm glad that you could hear the clip, and I hope that others on the board could hear it also, in spite of the fact that it was addressed to you! :rollin For your listening pleasure... Here is another sound clip which I found at Amazon.com! It features the soprano Anna Moffo singing an excerpt from Sergei Rachmaninoff's exquisite composition entitled Vocalise. Just close your eyes, and try to imagine Hayley singing this one!!! Heavenly, right? As before, the link below plays using RealPlayer... CLICK HERE

Hi, Hayleydisca! I'm sorry that you were having trouble with that link which I posted, up above. I tried the link myself, just now, to see how it is working. What I found was... for some odd reason, the first time that I clicked on the link it didn't work. (I don't know why this is so, since it was working fine when I posted it yesterday.) HOWEVER, because I am persistent, I clicked on the same link again, five minutes later, and again, two minutes after that, and again, yet another two or three minutes after that. I discovered that it actually did work perfectly fine the third or fourth time that I tried it!!! Here is what I think is going on... the website of loudeye.com (where the server is located which houses this RealMedia file) is a very, very popular website. ALL of the amazon.com RealMedia sample files are stored there. That means that there are thousands and thousands of music clips there, and there are many thousands of users at Amazon.com who are clicking on various links, at the same time, all of them leading to loudeye.com, every second. I believe that sometimes the loudeye.com server becomes overwhelmed with many multiple, simultaneous "hits" -- and when that happens, it sends you an error message such as "file cannot be found." Believe me, the file CAN be found... as long as the server has enough room, or enough memory, to permit your computer link to enter the site. If you try again, and still cannot access it... wait five minutes, wait two minutes, or wait three minutes, and try again and again!! Sooner, or later, you will succeed. Good luck!!! And, happy listening! If you try more than thirty different times, and still cannot make it load into your computer... I have a question for you: you DO have RealPlayer software installed on your computer system, yes? This file is NOT a Windows Media Player file. It is a RealPlayer file (notice that the file extension is .RA) My only last thought on this problem is... and i really HOPE this is NOT the case... I see that you are located in Hong Kong. I'm hoping that the website of loudeye.com is *not* restricting access to computer domains in North America only. Very few websites restrict access geographically, and I'm hoping that loudeye.com is NOT one of them! Anyone else out here in cyberspace who is having trouble with this file? Aussies? Kiwis? Brits?

Faure's Pavane is lovely but I have never heard a vocalise version. If you want to start a petition to get her to sing that, I'll sign it!! Hi, Roger! You have never heard a vocalise version of Faure's Pavane? Okay... here it is... a small clip of it, at least... Barbra Streisand is singing it... click here

Oooooooo...! What I wouldn't give... to have Hayley put some of the tracks from WITA onto a future international release album! (I was never one of the lucky ones to get a copy of her original WITA album. The earliest album I own by Hayley is the self-titled one, Hayley Westenra.)
I'd love for Hayley to put the two songs she sang with Andrea Bocelli, on the recent NBC skating special, onto a future CD -- the songs Con Te Partiro, and Vivo Per Lei.
Additionally... if my fondest music "fantasies" could come true... I would have Hayley offer us the following songs on a future album:
-- Oblivion (composed by Astor Piazzolla)
-- a "vocalise" rendition of Pavane (composed by Gabriel Fauré)
-- Vocalise (composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff) -- I have an old cassette tape on which Anna Moffo sings this Rachmaninoff piece, and it blows me away every time!
-- The "flower" duet from the opera LAKME, composed by Delibes.
-- Bailero (from Chants d'Auvergnes).
-- Ombra Mai Fu (by Handel)
BTW... Do not "confuse" the above Pavane by Fauré with the Pavane by Ravel. She has already sung the Pavane by Ravel (in the form of "Never Say Goodbye") If you want to hear what the Pavane by Fauré sounds like, you might listen to a rendition of it sung by Barbra Streisand on her album entitled "Classical Barbra."

Teddy would be an excellent Phantom choice and he has the correct voice type ... It sad though, most Raoul's have just OK voices because they have to look good. We need someone with both looks and a amazing voice that would do justice to Hayley's. Hey, Natasha...! May I make a suggestion for a "better than just OK" voice who would do a great job as Raoul, because he is "someone with both looks and an amazing voice," as you so aptly put it -- Josh Groban! How about Josh Groban? He's not bad to look at, either! His voice would do justice to Hayley's.

Incidentally, the clock is now nearly 14 hours slow, so it must be losing about 30 minutes every day! Richard, Your observation about the time clock over there is actually very astute! You posted the above message on the 1st of June, and it is now just a couple of days beyond the 15th of June (i.e., two weeks later)... And... it appears that the clock on that Official Forum server is now approximately 21 hours slow!It DOES indeed appear to be "losing" about 30 minutes every day! Fourteen days at 30 min./day would indeed account for a loss of an additional 7 hours! Another 4 more days from today, and it'll come up to exactly 24 hours slow -- an entire day! (Hey, then at least the time will be correct -- for a few minutes -- even if the date will be wrong!!!) Why the devil don't they fix it? The "obsessive-compulsive" in me finds this sooooo annoying!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifEven MORE remarkable is the fact that when I did a search of the entire forum over there... I could not find even a single thread which mentioned the faulty time clock. None of the users over there are complaining? Everybody just ignores it?

Let's hope there aren't too many other AOL users in here, as we may never see them again unless the logon requirement can be changed or they are as determined as you... well done! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThanks for your comments, Dave. Well, about the issue of *other* AOL users here in this forum... I happen to know that classicgrace (Natasha Poholka) uses AOL. I last saw her post here on the 11th of May. When exactly was the new software installed here at Proboards20.com? Natasha... if you are reading this... PLEASE POST here soon, to let us know that your AOL is working for you. Otherwise, if you need an "activation key" and you are not receiving it at your AOL mailbox -- do what I did!! Sign up for free email at Yahoo.com, and then tell Proboards to send your activation key to your Yahoo email address! (What a pain!)

Hey, guys!! Well, I *finally* got on here, at long last! See... I was rather ill with a serious medical problem during February, March, and April. As a result, I rarely posted anything here, and came to this board only very infrequently. Are you all aware of the expression: "If you don't use it, you lose it!" Well, for a while I "lost" it -- my password to log-on here, that is! (I forgot what it was.) Keith was kind enough to supply me with a brand-new temporary password, BUT... that's when all my troubles just began! See... I was using AOL as my ISP and as my primary email address. When I went to this board and entered the new password which Keith had given me, the system here at ProBoards wouldn't allow me to complete my sign-in *until* I typed in the so-called "activation key" which they said that they had automatically generated and emailed to me @aol. Sounds easy enough, right? WRONG!!!!!!! The problem was, AOL was "arbitrarily" BLOCKING all AOL users (**not** just me alone) from receiving any incoming emails sent by "nobody@proboards20.com" AOL's administrators have apparently decided that email from such a source is "SPAM" -- and they refuse to let it arrive, no matter what I try to do. Finally, in desperation, I just signed-up for a FREE email account at Yahoo.com, and then I had to revise my registered email address for my profile here at ProBoards. Finally! ProBoards sent the activation key in very short order, straight to my Yahoo.com mailbox, without any problems at all! All I can say is... I haven't a clue as to WHY the AOL system cannot accept these emails as graciously as Yahoo does, but AOL should be ashamed!!!!!

Okay... ummm... I've got a techie question i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI know that whenever I type a message here which contains the URL of a web page, I see that the URL gets treated by proboards20.com as a "hyperlink," enabling anyone who reads that message to just click on it to be transported to another page (or, in some cases, to a media file). But, I have seen people post here and insert hyperlinks which display with just one or two words, such as "click here" or something to that effect. My question is... What is the manner in which I must type in my link information, in order to "suppress" the overt display of the actual URL, and to substitute a word or a phrase in place of the URL in the body of the posted text message? Would one of you more advanced "techies" kindly provide me with some helpful hints? Thanks.
