I've booked my ticket today. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I have seat GG20. When I looked at the seat plan I saw that there are only a few seats left. So if somebody likes to attend this concert book NOW before it's too late!!! Hope to see you there Mark! By the way, great chat last Friday!
Yes, the chat was something I can't wait to be repeated. Hopefully Hayley remembers the 17th November. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Would be cool if she joined us again. I checked the seat plan to know where to find you. To see Hayley after the show would be great. It's always an excitement when you never know before if it's possible or not. Let's hope she has a heart for her fans waiting in the cold to be warmed by her presence. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I know she has but maybe her schedule hasn't ... so we have to wait and see.
New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra, who was named one of the 10 outstanding young people in the world in the Junior Chamber International awards last month, will perform on the Donald Gordon Theatre stage at Wales Millennium Centre for the very first time this Christmas.
The 19-year-old singing sensation will perform in Christmas Presence, an evening of music capturing the spirit of Christmas, on Saturday 9 December along with the Christmas Presence Orchestra and Howell’s Girls Choir.
Westenra, who broke into the record books with the fastest-selling debut album ever to enter the classical music charts, Pure, is more than used to high profile performances having performed all over the world with the likes of Bryn Terfel, Jose Carreras and Andrea Bocelli.
Wales Millennium Centre’s Chief Executive Judith Isherwood says, “We are not only committed to taking the best of Wales to the world but also to bringing the best of the world to Wales. Hayley has achieved global success and we’re looking forward to welcoming her to the Centre for the very first time in December.”
“This is a concert that the whole family can enjoy. I would advise people to book early to avoid disappointment as tickets are proving popular.”
The evening, hosted by celebrity guests and in support of The Prince’s Trust, will feature favorite Christmas songs and music including Sleigh Ride, Troika, Joy to the World, White Christmas and Hark the Herald all under the baton of conductor Andrew Greenwood.
Thanks very much for the info. I am really looking forward to this event and its good to have a little background. You always seem to to be able to find these things - perhaps I dont look in the right places ! I mentioned to Hayley last Saturday that Thomas and myself were looking forward to seeing her at Cardiff. As you won't be at this one, I will do my best to find the stage door to welcome her in true HWI style !
Many thanks for the link - it worked perfectly and so now I know where the stage door is ! I am really looking forward to this with only just over a month to go ! Do you know what time you expect to arrive yet Thomas ?
I don't know the time yet about when I'm going to arrive. The train/bus ride from Sheffield takes about 4,5 hours. So if I get the train I want and if I get all my connections (I have to change the train/bus twice) I hope to arrive in Cardiff maybe 1pm or 2pm. After I've checked in at the hotel I'll go immediately to the Wales Millennium Centre. I hope to be there not later than 3pm. Hopefully earlier but it depends on the public transport system. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
I have some great news from the UK Christmas TV schedules which I don't think has been reported previously (correct me if I'm wrong). I hope this information from Digiguide is correct! This concert - Christmas Presence at the Cardiff Millennium Centre - will (it would seem) be recorded for broadcast on ITV Wales on Friday 22 December at 11pm for one hour.
MUSIC: Christmas Presence On: ITV1 Wales Date: Friday 22nd December 2006 Time: 23:00 to 00:00 (1 hour long)
A special Christmas carol concert presented by David Attenborough held at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff with guest star Hayley Westenra. (Widescreen, Subtitles)

If you know how to do it, anyone in the UK who can receive Sky Digital television can also receive this broadcast. I shall, of course, try to record it for posterity.
I will place a dummy thread about this in the Media board as that may be where people will look for information... but I'll link it straight back to this thread in the concerts board to avoid duplication.
There will be two of us ( as far as I know) as well as yourself on the 9th. Thomas is coming over from Germany as you may have read and I shall be travelling from Oxfordshire (with an overnight stay). I have seats in the stalls about 5 rows from the front.I t would be good to meet up if at all possible.
