Hello Peter! It's great to see you posting again, so welcome back! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI managed to sort out the link in your first post, so the forum is mended. I'm not sure what those
tags are for, but they clearly shouldn't go in the middle of a url! If you're wondering how I hid the url in my first post, I did it like this:- Hayley's official siteClick on "quote" to see how I managed to type that without creating a working link. It's a little trick I picked up from a post by Dave! Will you be going to the Huddersfield concert in June? Best Wishes, Richard

Dear Richard. Thank you for your kind words in re-greeting me. In responding, you give me a wonderful excuse to post again, because (if that works! ) I have been undeterred by my earlier mishap and have now arranged an avatar, a caption and a signature and am eager to show off!!!!. However, you say '... the forum is mended...' The forum is mended!! You mean, I broke that too? I realised I had made a hash of a single post (about three times) but i didn't realise I had brought the entire edifice crashing down. Sorry. However, I think I understand what went wrong, because i had used the code sigs first before i realised there was a pair of opening and closing url quotes. So in my cut and paste to change to the url pair I must have inadvertently split the url pair around the code pair--or vice versa. Again, sorry. While I'm on the subject of site technicalities, and I do intend to find the right board but repetition on this subject is not a bad thing, sometimes, I want to comment on what I have discovered in my nearly two months of absence from the site. The site is absolutely terrific. A very 'well done' to all those behind the scenes who have been beavering away so productively and so successfully. Before you started we had a good site. It has improved beyond measure. Thank you. all of you who all too occasionally only are acknowledged for what you do for us all. I am, however, now worried sick about what i have done in my prpfile. There, it all looks all right. But then it looked all right if not quite as I had intended when i last posted... and that brought the forum down. I just hope my profile jinxing doesn't bnring the site down!!! Returning to message, you are seriously asking me if I intend to be there (at Huddersfield), at a show that is a Hayley show, as opposed to Hayley being a part of someone else's show--although technically speaking that might be somewhat true but not in the way she relates to Il Divo, as I understand it? Having waxed so lyrically about how wonderful she was (they all were, and the place) last Christmas? The only answer i will give you is that I have the 17th March in my diary upon which date I shall be on the telephone to a certain number in the Penines!!! Regarding last Christmas, I did say I might include a photo in the forum report (not the review report) and I will see if any are suitable. I was still playing around with a little digital without flash (not that looking at arhitacture flash is really helpful) but the exposure is still too slow and they may be too fuzzy. I have a thousand pounds invested in lenses for my SLR and I'm waiting to find a digital back that wiill let me use those lenses and which might give me better light levels and I didn't wish to be bothered with a tripod (or monopod) at the hall. That's it for now. Glad to chat again. Thank you Richard postscript Thank you for your painstaking explanation and example. I have copied and pasted into a Word doc so i can study it in detail offline.

Hello again Peter! Sorry if I alarmed you. Your little mishap didn't break the whole forum, but it had a very strange effect on this thread. The posts down to and including your first one were squeezed into the left hand side of the screen, while the right hand side was inky blackness. With your subsequent posts, the text was all over in the right hand side of the screen, with the left hand margin extending to the centre. Quite why this happened I don't know, but the layout returned to normal when I removed the code tags from the url. I hope you enjoy the concert in Huddersfield! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard and Roger, hi all, I have ordered my ticket for June 8 th to visit Hayley at her concert in RHS Garden Wisley. And I booked a hotel in London from 8-11 th of June. I’m not sure if it is possible to go by train (?) on June 10 th to Huddersfield concert too, spend the night there and go back to London on 11 th to catch the airplane at 6 p.m back to Berlin. What do you think is it possible to attend Hayley’s concert in Huddersfield ? Who knows the time when this concert in Huddersfield will take place? Many thanks for your answers in advance. Kind regards, Lothar

Hi Lothar, I think that would be possible. Tickets for the Huddersfield concert do not go on sale until 17th March so we cannot be sure of the start time until then. It is usual to begin evening concerts at 7.30 or 8pm. The journey time from London to Huddersfield by train is between 3 and 4 hours. I use TheTrainLine.com to check journey times but details are only held for three months in advance. However, I have supposed your journey to be made one week early (3rd and 4th June) and it seems you could catch the 12.55 from London Kings Cross, change at Wakefield Westgate, and arrive in Huddersfield at 16.06. The following day, the 11.40 out of Huddersfield would get you back to London at 15.31 (changing at Leeds). Many other times are available but this seems to ensure it could be done. Bon voyage when the time comes! Best wishes, Roger

Hi Roger and Denis, many thanks for your support. My problem is: I have my flight tickets since january, 15th and I'm not shure if I can change the flights. We will see what is possible. Also today I was reading that Kiri Te Kanawa is performing in Hampton Court on June 8th also. It is a pity that this is the same day as Hayley is singing in London RHS. Kind regards, Lothar

Hi Everybody, The following has appeared in The Huddersfield Daily Examiner today Hayley's stunning return Mar 17 2006 When you've had two major singing stars such as Aled Jones and Katherine Jenkins sharing your concert billing, it's difficult to know how to match that. But Innovate Skelmanthorpe Band have done just that. The band is thrilled that they have been able to continue their practice of inviting big name celebrities to their annual Town Hall concert with no less a singing sensation than Hayley Westenra. The New Zealand soprano caused a stir when she appeared in Huddersfield Town Hall just before Christmas alongside Huddersfield Methodist Choir. Skelmanthorpe were already negotiating to bring her to Huddersfield when Hayley agreed to appear with the Methodists as part of a UK tour that saw her sing in some of our most beautiful churches and cathedrals, such as Tewskesbury and Shrewsbury abbeys and Beverley and Southwell minsters. Such was the response to her appearance in Huddersfield that the band has no qualms about bringing her back. In fact, they can't wait for June 10, the date of this year's star concert. Concert Secretary, Graham Crossland, says: "Hayley is one of the biggest names in the music world at the moment and we are thrilled that she has agreed to return to Huddersfield after her highly acclaimed concert here in December. "Many people at the time asked how we could `top' our evening with Katherine Jenkins and while it would have been very difficult to do so, we certainly believe we can match it with Hayley. "Like Katherine, she comes with the reputation of being a delightful, bubbly person to work with and we are very much looking forward to appearing on stage with her. As with both Aled and Katherine, Hayley will perform joint numbers with the band." Hayley is the New Zealander whose stunning natural voice captivated millions when as a 15-year-old, she launched her debut album, Pure - and changed her life. That album sold millions and achieved a remarkable double - topping the UK classical charts and hitting the pop charts Top Ten . And it changed the life of a teenager who was still a schoolgirl used to living at home in Christchurch, New Zealand with mum and dad Jill and Gerald Westenra, sister Sophie and brother Isaac. She sang for presidents, prime ministers and royalty and shared the spotlight with some of the world's top classical singers. These days a lot has changed, but at heart, not you suspect, Hayley. Because she works overseas such a lot, Hayley now has a base in London. It makes traveling in Europe, to Japan where she has cult status, and to America, easier than from her home base in New Zealand. But those ties are still strong with family members regularly making the journey to see Hayley on a regular basis. Hayley will be a welcome visitor back in Huddersfield. Both previous concerts with Aled Jones and with Katherine Jenkins proved big hits playing to full houses and delighting the critics. The band are sure Hayley will do the same. Tickets at £10-£18 are available via booking forms which are widely available and from Kirklees Booking Offices from today. They might be the perfect Mother's Day gift! Edit: I've posted a link to the original article here. Richard
