Hi Holger, hi all, last days I was writing to ARD and MDR (TV-stations) they should confirm the dates of 15th and/or 17th of December. But till today they didn't. It is everytime the same problem, that nobody gives exact and veryified answers ... cu Lothar

Hi Lothar, I think she is unlikely to be in Leipzig on 17th December because, on that day, she is due to perform in Huddersfield! Hope you get reliable information soon. Roger

Hello Lothar! I hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but your first link gives José's schedule for 2003, so it looks like a redundant web site! I think the second link is the one to watch! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Lothar, Hayley may well appear with Jose in Leizing on 15th December but, if it is 17th (as you suggested in Reply #1), it is doubtful as we understand she will be in Huddersfield. Let's hope this is clarified soon. Cheers, Roger

The 2003 reference at the Jose Carreras site is understandable - back in July 2003 there was talk that Hayley would be at the Leipzig Festival in 2003. Apperently, someone somewhere at that time heard about Pure (Pur in German) being featured there, and a conclusion was drawn that this meant that the artist of the album "Pure" would be in attendance.
In the end it turn out the reference was to the German group PUR - who did perform at that festival!

No need to apologise Lothar, I made exactly the same mistake myself a little while ago. And it's only a question of time before I do so again! Lol
All the best, Roger

I reckon they did it on PURpose just to confuse us! Roger Well, of course the question could be asked, did PUR pose for pictures? I don't know, but I recorded the song they performed .... The José Carreras Gala is an annual event in Leipzig, about a week before Christmas - and is dedicated to raise funds for cancer research. José Carreras himself has fought off a special form of cancer himself, Leukaemia, and I am not sure at this stage if the Gala is especially for research into leukaemia (Blut Krebs, I think it is in German), or for cancer (Krebs) in general. Anyway, the Gala is in essence a crossover event. The song performed by PUR is about a son bemourning the loss of his father due to cancer, reminiscing about the good times he remembers when is father and mother were still happily dancing in Drei Viertel Takt. Also as a present to our German friends, here is what I think quite a moving song, Waltzer fur Dich: www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/misc/WaltzerPUR.wmvIt may not be everyone's cup of tea, I think the style is reminiscent of Queen being given a Classical make-over.
